This place has amazing food and service and we can’t wait to get back. It is definitely a local favorite but the food is better than most places we go that are twice as expensive. We both had the Cod fish fry served with fries and homemade coleslaw which I could just eat that! I had Chicken Tortilla soup and my wife the Clam Chowder both were delicious. We had Cheese curds for an appetizer and the order was enough for 4 adults. Please give them a try!
The atmosphere and service was great! We asked our server for extra limes and he sure did deliver lol. Also very yummy food! Id recommend to anyone wanting to stop at a good local joint for that home like feeling.Recommended dishesWisconsin Burger, Fried Mushrooms
I don't leave many 2-star reviews, but when I do... They are well deserved. Our service and food were not good. I went with my dad and sister, I split a cheeseburger with my sister and my dad ordered a brat. Our burger came out burnt on the outside and then I realized our waiter didn't ask how we wanted it cooked. The burger was not good. Edible is a good descriptor. Then, the brat never came. We asked the waiter and she completely forgot to put the order in. I would go back and give it a second chance though, it was my first time and could've just been a bad experience which can happen anywhere.
Friendly Staff, Great Atmosphere, Best bar band ever. 13 out of 5 Stars. Also, Raccoon in tree to south of bar.
We were in town for our sons graduation from Navy boot camp. We.got into town & checked into hotel and needed to find a place to eat dinner failry close to the Naval Station. We were looking for pub grub and found this place after.doing some online searching. The people there were super cool to us from the time we sat down and we felt right at home. I got a pint of beer from a local brewery on tap, wish I could remember what it was but it was good, my wife got some wine which was fine for her. We ordered the cheese curds app, they were tasty. I ordered the Italian beef sandwich w/provolone & fries, my wife ordered a Greek salad . My wife enjoyed her salad and took at least half back to the room. I haven't ever had an Italian beef sandwich before but knew what they are. It was a really good sandwich. Their Giardiniera was on the side but had just the right amount of spice that it went great on the sandwich. I would definitely eat that again. We stayed for their trivia and won a round and got a free breakfast . That Saturday our son shipped out basically in the middle of the night and our flight out was in the afternoon so we went back and had breakfast. When we arrived the staff remembered us and made us feel like regulars. I got a bloody Mary which came with a small beer chaser, my wife got a mimosa. we enjoyed both drinks. I got their corned beef hash, my wife got the French toast. They were both very good. The staff and people there really were super cool to us and we felt like we were in a place we belonged. If we are ever.back in the area we will return.
5+3 Well, what can you say? This is a nifty little pub and eatery! 5+1 in my book. The young lady who served us, I believe her name was Joy, was amazing. She discussed the entire menu. Her conversational skills are extraordinary! She's a real class act that blends in well with customers and the establishment. Remember to leave her a nice tip! The fish fry, the cod especially, and the cream of shrimp soup was delicious. My monster burger was very tasty and done exactly as I requested. My granddaughters Italian beef was perfectly done with just the right amount of juice. My Coors light was very cold, just the way I like it. The decorum which was very inviting, dimly-lit, along with good music. The games were on the televisions, the conversations and interactions on a Friday night were in full bloom. I would recommend Green Town Tavern as a spot to eat, have a cocktail, and good conversation with friends. What are you waiting for? After all aren't shamrocks supposed to bring you good fortune?
Just found this Quaint little place as I was walking around one day. I had the Blue Burger and it was a spot hitter! Creamy blue cheese and good quality meat for a decent priced burger. Although they forgot the chips lol. I can't complain. Friendly and cleanFood: 5/5
This Place Has Always Been One Of My Favorite Spots In Waukegan. It Has A Good Positive Vibe To It. Good Drinks And Even Better Food! The Service Is Outstanding. I Highly Recommend It If Your In The Waukegan Area.Food: 5/5
Well a coworker suggested this place being the best burgers and mushroom and my he's right. Also heard this is a place for politics within Waukegan. Anyways was also amazed that the Amertto stone sour was a generous amount. Never experience having a glass and cost was about the same as a little glass they usually serve it. I had ordered the steak burger and for the price and how much Burger you get is very good I did not order french fries however I did order their mushrooms and the way they prepared and cooked it was delicious. There was not too much bread and the mushrooms were not small at all in some restaurants when it comes to bar food. Their steak burger was also worth the money for how much Burger you got for $12. Fridays they have a fish fry and I will probably come here on Friday for lunch they either have it in Pollock or in COD and I plan to order both to compare the taste. They also have shrimp but I'm not a big fan of fried shrimp nowadays. Anyways four stars for this hidden gem up in the north of a small town like Waukegan cause I didn't think there was any good to dine in until I discovered this
My wife and I came here on a relatively chill Saturday evening during the annual ArtWauk event. The place was probably about 30-40% full, and it seemed like maybe they had the bartender and just one server working. I think they probably could have used one more, but it's a minor complaint. The sttaff was friendly, beer was cold, and the bathrooms were clean. Good place to spend an hour or two.
