My children are so completely traumatized from their experience with Dr. Keller. His manner with children was unbelievable, he never even said hello to them, much less spoke to them throughout their visit. I was not allowed to accompany them for their procedures, unlike every other pediatric dentist office I have called since. The office we have switched to is wonderful and allows my children to sit in my lap during their procedures Kingston Pediatric Dentistry. In addition to being very unfriendly to my children, Dr. Keller was not professional or nice in the way that he spoke with me. The worst result of seeing Dr. Keller is that my son needs to have one of his stainless steel caps replaced because it was done incorrectly. And my daughter is currently developing an infection from her cap being done incorrectly that will require her tooth to be extracted! After the visits with Dr. Keller my children both complained of pain for days after. The were unable to sleep for many nights after from the pain. With our new dentist, they never had any pain issues whatsoever. As a parent, I feel very guilty for taking my children to Dr. Keller's office.
My kids went to Greene Pediatric Dentistry after their horrible experience in a Coxsackie dentist’s office. Still their customers over a decade later. My 2 daughters never experienced anything improper being done while they were patients. They said Dr Kelleher just did his job, without talking to them much, but they did not ever complain about him in any other way. I have no other opinions, since thid is the only way we knew anyone in the office. The staff were always professional and my girls loved getting little toys after experiencing the unavoidable pain that comes with dental care.
My son is 3.5 and non-verbal with autism and a lot of sensory issues. I was not able to brush his teeth basically at all until about 6-9 months ago. He has decay and cavities from the lack of brushing. I was very worried about him handling a dentist appointment. Don't get me wrong it is hard work on the parent part, but the dentist office handled him well and got it done. He is going back for follow up work to get the caps/fillings and I feel it will go well.
I stand by everything written here 100% this office is rude, treats kids like cattle, and I recommend you go anywhere else. I had so many issues with this place over the course of four phone calls and one visit I might miss a few of the points. - my kid has a cavity. He complained about the x-rays for 14 nanoseconds so they just didn't take them. The doctor looked in my kids mouth for 10 seconds and said he needed a crown and root canal on a baby tooth in the back. My wife is a former dental assistant and there is no way without x-rays and a 10 second glance my kiddo would need that unless he just knew my insurance would pay for it. - they use loopy juice and hug blankets, which are restraints, and care less about the child's comfort than they do being a money making office. The screaming we heard in that office of terrified kids restrained down without their parents being allowed in the room was gut wrenching. - they insisted my son had no insurance. Insisted. I called my insurance and they had no idea the problem. I made a dozen phonecalls trying to remedy this and was assured he was insured. Turns out, despite me spelling my son's name on the phone to them and saying it several times, they had him spelled wrong entirely and somehow still managed to insinuate it was my fault. Never once did it cross their mind to double check the spelling? Not even a cursory "totes sorry" for my hassle? When your first and only kid has his first cavity and needs to be seen do you have any idea how stressful 12 gosh darn phone calls are in that situation? - we were accosted for being late for my kids 1030 am appt because we showed up at 1033ish and we were supposed to be 15 min early for paper work, when even after numerous annoying and aggravating phone calls I don't remember being told that, nor reminded that ever. It set a tone for the whole relationship with the office, one that continued to degrade once the callous doctor saw dollar signs in my kid's mouth. - even canceling his followup was met with an obviously annoyed person on the other end because I couldn't remember the exact date of his appt, likely owing to purposefully jettisoning all memory of that awful place and lackluster interactions and screaming terrified children. I have literally never been happier to be rid of a place. - I called a competitor who is farther away but doesn't use restraints, doesn't demand 15 min before your first visit, refuses to diagnose without x-rays which they promise they can get from even the worst kiddos. Don't fall this office's line of bull and respect your kid''s treatment and go someplace else. - fun fact: when we had our reservations about this office my wife reached out on Facebook to see if anyone in her social circle had similar misgivings and we got an overwhelming response that Greene pediatric dentistry place is just awful. Tons of horror stories. Run screaming away into the night, potential customer. Edit after review response: If you are not the office you say you are, explain to me how a dentist could look in a mouth without xrays on a baby tooth in the back and immediately know a crown is needed? If your scheduler or whomever i talked to on the phone is newer, sit them down and let them know they are rude and that the name Calvin is not Kelvin, and if it's an unusual name as such, maybe double check it before you send everyone on a wild goose chase with insurances. Did you know when I called the smile lodge they double checked everything right away, found the insurance in five seconds, agreed with me that you barely looked at his tooth, and that they've gotten several unsatisfied parents directly from your office? did you know they, and several other places i called, don't allow hug blankets that are restraints, and they allow the parents back there with the kid? Do you have a rebuttal for how many folks jumped on a facebook post about how awful you are? Good job writing a giant rebuttal, your office is still trash though. IT IS EXACTLY what I'm describing.
Will not take my son back again! Son had X-rays, the doctor looked at them said he needed 4 fillings. Didn’t talk to me and it or even show me the X-rays. Not to mention I am NOT a fan of the fact that he has a private room to do fillings and whatnot and the parents are not allowed in yet their children are screaming/crying!!! I took my son to another doctor for a second opinion. The place I took him to is an hr drive but worth it!! Dr Keller’s office never sent over my sons X-rays when I asked them to. When we got to the new dr they didn’t have X-rays from kellers office so I called Keller’s office while we were at the new drs and they said they will send them over right then and we wait at least 20 minutes and still nothing was sent over! The new place took new X-rays and took more than Keller’s office did and did not charge me! The doctor was so nice. He spoke to me and showed me my sons X-rays, told me the issues and whatnot. Was so kind to us. And parents are allowed in the room with their children and if a parent isn’t comfortable with something they’ll stop. I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Keller! I will not tAke my son there again!!!
I personally went to this dentist office. I felt it very weird that he did not allow my father to come in the room with me! I have only gotten one major task done to my teeth by him and it was a tooth extraction and I was asleep throughout the whole thing and I don’t know what happened throughout that period of time but when I woke up my mouth was extremely sore. When I woke up he explained the procedure to me but while he was talking he would never look me directly in the eye. He had A lot of stuffed animals but they were all so random. His front desk staff were very nice but as for his nurses they were very rude and fought all the time which I found very innoproprate. After I found out what he had done, I wasn’t surprised he was very sketchy in the first place. I am now proud to say that I have moved offices and will never return there again.
I love this office, they are fast, friendly and great with both my 18 month old and 9 yr old. I honestly have no complaints and DO recommend Dr. Keller and his staff. I will miss them if we move.
We were in and out. Kids ages 3&4. Both did fine because the staff were very kind and soft spoken making it easy for the kids to feel comfortable and relax while having their exams. They also loved the toys available in the waiting room that kept them busy. This office made going to the dentist fun.
We went out of our way to travel to this dentist for our daughter about eight years ago and have been going ever since. We had taken her to various dentists and been very dissatisfied. This is a really good pediatric dentist and staff also. Gavin H.
The staff here are very nice, and they do everything they can to help your child stay calm. The doctors and assistants are super kid oriented, getting the work they need to done while they engage the child to distract them from what's happening, and I don't want to bring my son anywhere else.
