Greene's Country Store and Feed

I went in for a product I was having trouble finding and easily found it here. While there, got to talking with Keith about lawn care, and realized they offer organic lawn care consulting. I ordered a soil test, and Keith laid out a simple plan for application of nutrients for my lawn. Looking forward to working with them to get a great lawn! Plus, so far is MUCH cheaper than other lawn care services that are using expensive chemicals. Very knowledgable, and more importantly eager to help me out without trying to sell me something I didn't want or need.

My rating for Greene's Country store is a -2 stars. My experience was horrible, to the extreme. I went in to inquire about the free range turkey for the holiday and to my amazement the price was $4.74 a pound. When I asked the employee why the price was so high for something that was less for the farmer to raise free range means the turkey's feed themselves and antibiotics and hormones cost extra money, he immediately got defensive and asked me why I was berating him with my questions. I asked a simple consumer question and was berated myself. The whole time I was there the owner was too. He took the employee's side, which I would have to say was his son, and probably the farmer with the turkey's. But in the end the only reason why the price was $4.74 a pound was because the turkey's needed more land. I am not a stupid woman by any means and when I am being ripped off because farmers think we all are stupid I stand my ground.I am suggesting to everyone that you not purchase food of any type, meat or produce, from this establishment. If you think I am incorrect then look up organic and free range and decide for yourself if you should pay the higher price. But this woman will never step foot in that store again.

Called to check a price for a locally supplied product and found Greene's in fact had it in stock for 36% more than other local retailers. After giving me the price I commented it was nearly $40.00 more which prompted the following snarky response, "then go buy it there". Anyone with any manners or for that matter understood how to care for a retail business could have responded with most anything else and I wouldn't feel the need to publish a review. Having never been to this business, something along the lines of "we have plenty in stock if you change your mind" or "we do stand behind our product plus we have many other things to offer" or even "sorry, but we don't price match" could have won the day. Instead, I have no desire to ever cross their threshold. I would not this recommend this business to my friends or any readers of this post. Take care of those that take care of you...

This place is fantastic, we get our veges from here, all our bird feeding supplies, honey, meat. All pasture raised or local or as green as possible. If it is possible to buy it there, I do. This is a true locally owned store, the way it used to be and the way it should be. The staff are great and will go out of their way to help you.

Friendlyist staff around! I buy my feed here among many other things. These people love to help and make you feel like family. I stopped buying my feed from the feed store down the road because these employees were very pleasent and full of knowledge. They went out of their way to answer all my questions!! SHOP HERE!

Just because your business is in a richer neighborhood doesnt mean jack up your prices.
