It's DART's most famous station West End Station with their West End girls. An open market 24/7 for weed, crack or heroine. Home of the vagrants, drunks, and crackheads. Favorite hangout of Dallas' coolest juvenile delinquents.
It feels much safer than it had before with the thick presence of the City of Dallas Police departments personnel. I Appreciate that and do feel much safer in my travels!
Seriously, they need to do something about the West End Station. DART need to make every effort to keep that Station Safe and Clean. I like the fact that there is a Light Rail and a Bus Station there. However, that place contains a lot of stuff that should not be there. A lot of dirt, trash everywhere, loitering, soliciting; you just name it and you'll find it at the West End Station
I rode this system in 1999, and only thing that I don't like about the service with DART is the lack of connections with the Samuel bus. I went on a Transit Oriented Development tour. In some parts of Dallas, the area that was littered with crack houses was cleaned up. The crack houses got replaced by condos and grocery stores. At least it is what I have found out what Transit Oriented Development is all about when I went on the tour. I do miss the Over-the-Road buses they used to have. DART should now focus on buying the MCI D45 CRT le.
Too many homeless people asking for change and smoking crack. Don't come here between 10 pm and 7 am, unless you're fine emptying your wallet for someone with a shank.
A great station that is perfectly located to go anywhere DART services. Green, Blue, Orange and Red lines. One or another goes by every 5 minutes on average and there is a coffee shop, a McDonalds and a Williams Chicken right there at the station.
Please don’t go here. I take the DART trains quite often and I can say there are a lot of bad stations but this is the worst. Homeless, high people, it’s basically the undesirable hub. If you need to transfer I’d Recommend Akard or St. Paul as they service all four trains and have 711s near them if you want something to eat. If you need to get off at west end for something else then use Victory on the green and orange line it is much safer.
Today Tuesday, R. Smith from West End, from customer service, helped and guided us at all times. We are Spanish tourists passing through Dallas. She was very kind and arranged our trip to the other end of Dallas. We leave very grateful for the experience and for the kindness of R. Smith de West. Thanks a lot . End / DART
There is cigarette and marijuana smoke every time that I go here. This makes sense since there are people always selling drugs, cigarettes and themselves. It smells like urine and fried food at the benches. I would not take visitors here.
Need more than one bathroom stale since everyone seems like they are about to piss their pants going there. Plus the route 110 is always late.
