I was pleasantly surprised that there was no admission fee. The facility was very clean and organized. The displays were varied and met my interest. The interactive room was fun! I like the notifications of different events that were coming up. I went to a book signing a few nights later.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entryFree
Great place to spend a couple hours. Top floor is fun for kids. Start at the top and work your way down. Make sure you request a cemetery tour!
The hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 2 pm to 5 pm. Closed on Mondays, for anybody who wants to know. The Admission is free, they have guided tours of the cemetery and that is the only way you can see the cemetery, they do accept donations and they have really changed the displays up. Now they have them pretty much by years and decades, We had a really good time visiting and would definitely recommend people stop and and see Greensboro's history.
I really enjoyed this museum. It very thoroughly and honestly reviews the history of the state and city. Some of the exhibits are hard to read and review, given the history of our country, but, in my opinion, it's important to know history's reality so we don't repeat it and can see the progress made. Much appreciation to the people that make places like this possible and preserve the artifacts and buildings. Very educational.
Exhibits on floors 2 & 3. Wide variety of items. Surprised at how large it was. Some parking at side of museum off E Lindsay St. Free admission. Enjoyed!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entryFree
Very nicely appointed FREE museum. The layout is slightly confusing, but the displays are very nice. Shows a wonderful progression of the history of the area. Highly recommended.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree

Great great museum! So glad we stopped in. Very well laid out and very informative. We found parking across the street. Staff was helpful. My funny moment was finding out the Vicks VaporRub was started in Greensboro. My parents swore by the benefits of this stuff Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Extremely well curated. I was shocked to the see the level of thought, creativeness and polish that went into its flow and presentation. It's also bigger than I was expecting it to be. I didn't know it was a Smithsonian branch until after we arrived. My boys and I spent 2+ hours there. Enjoyable and educational experience.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
It is a surprising neat museum in the downtown area of Greensboro. It is a Smithsonian Institute and has various topics of interest. The building itself has an unique backstory as part of it was a church gifted to the city in the 1920's; the staff are knowledgeable and enjoy sharing the history. They have TONS of events locally so check it out.
