What an awesome experience!! I will highly recommended to purchase a membership and expect to make a day of it! Why?! There is so much to see and to do! A learning adventure packed with so much fun & excitement! Although, many of the outdoor animals were hiding due to the heat, we were still able to see many different animals from all over the world without even leaving Greensboro. If you plan on going for the day, pack a lunch and some cool drinks. The cafe there smelled scrumptious and the prices were ridiculously high but an adventure like the Science Center a packed picnic lunch just makes it even more special! One of the best Science Centers around and well worth the adventure
This was an amazing experience! The African penguin exhibit was by far my favorite part. As a bird enthusiast seeing different birds was really cool. They even had a merchandise store and I got an African penguin plush. They have festive events like winter wonder lights which we will have to see later this year. All in all very fun experience and will be coming back again.
Great family place! My little family and friends spent hours here. They have a small aquarium, butterfly sanction, dinosaur exhibit, zoo, and so many other things here! We went early to beat the crowd, but by afternoon, it got crowded fast! There were lots of different play stations and areas that the kids were never bored. We sadly didn't get to see the baby hippo, but we did see the baby red panda.
The Greensboro Science Center was okay, not an out-of-this-world experience. We visited on a warm Saturday morning, and it was decently crowded. General admission price for an adult is 19.50 dollars, with reduced prices for seniors and children. We took around 2 hours to explore the science center including the aquarium. There were interesting bits of trivia about animals and other elements of our planet sprinkled throughout the science center, which we appreciated. The highlights for us were—the Foucault pendulum at the entrance, seeing the penguins and the hippos, the butterfly house, and the staff holding the red pandas for people to see. We also liked the segregation of different areas such as zoo, aquarium and farm animals within the center Having said that, we couldn’t see many animals outside since it was quite a warm day, which was disappointing. There’s a meerkat cafe inside, which serves food and drinks. Check-in was fast, and there’s a carousel area next to the science center in case you’re interested in it. There’s a huge parking lot outside, so parking shouldn’t be an issue. Overall, it’s a good place to spend time with your kids or just as adults knowing more about animals and our planet if you’re in the Greensboro area.
My first time going. If you have an ebt card you get a discount. It was pretty cool. Petting stingrays and sharks. They had penguins too. The zoo portion was probably my favorite thing. Got a chance to see some Red Panda cubs.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$1–5
Great place, friendly staff. I'm sure I'll get hate for this, but wish they had hours or even a dedicated day for adults only. Otherwise, go early to avoid the kids if that's not your thing. Cool setup for all animals, the aquarium section was really cool too. Staff was all VERY pleasant!
Came here for the first time, because we had a reciprocal zoo membership we got half off our admission which was nice. The aquarium is small but was nice, had some interesting animals, penguins were pretty active and there was a touch tank. The zoo itself was small compared to other zoos, not a large amount of animals but a decent amount, some were napping or indoors so we weren’t able to see them well. Large play area for kids, pretty cool and fun for parents too I think. Science center was interesting had some good exhibits, lots of interactive stuff.
We specifically came here to see some baby red pandas. And they delivered on that front. This place is a very mixed bag. The museum part is older and pretty run down. I wouldn’t return for that at all. If that’s all I was reviewing, I would give it a 2. Luckily, the outdoor animal area brings it up. I would give that alone a 4 so we’ll settle in the middle. The animal enclosures were very well done so we could see the animals and they looked like they had spacious habitats that keep them entertained. Most of them were sleeping but you can blame them on a hot summer day.
Outstanding place to spend the day with the kids and family! Lots of exhibits and hands on activities for everyone to enjoy. They also have a carousel, little pond with paddle boats and a "Zipline park". Affordable food and drinks for sale or you can picnic outside with your own food. If you're in Greensboro and want to treat your kids to a great day of science and activities, take them to the science center.
My daughter and I brought my granddaughter here for the day and she loved it, she's almost 2. They have a carousel for the kids to ride. They also have several little play areas all thru out the center that she loved. They have a aquarium and am outdoor zoo too. We didn't get to stay that long so there's a lot of areas we didn't get to visit but we plan on going back soon.
