This post is designed to provide insight and public awareness about an extremely disheartening experience we encountered with Schubert-Greenwood Funeral Home. Our goal is not to slander or demean Mr. Schubert; but rather to bring awareness to Mr. Schubert’s business practices in hopes that necessary changes are made to ensure prospective families are provided with a much higher quality of service than we experienced. On Thursday April 29. 2021 our father passed away in his sleep. Schubert-Greenwood Funeral Home was contacted, and our father was taken there. Mr. Schubert was on vacation at the time and reported plans to return on Friday April 30. 2021. Sadly Mr. Schubert did not return until Monday May 3, 2021 thus leaving our father without proper after life care for approximately 5 days. Mr. Schubert’s lack of business preparation and decision to not redirect business elsewhere resulted in the recommendation that we do not view our father due to the decompensation process already taking place. Although we respect the decision and recommendation to not view our father; frankly the decision was made for us through Mr. Schubert’s poor planning and business practices. Furthermore Mr. Schubert continued to disappoint by making small mistakes to the service as evidenced by putting the wrong poem on our father’s program. In the grand scheme of things this is a very small mistake, however, it is a constant reminder of the lack of listening and attention to details that Mr. Schubert demonstrated. Lastly, as of this post, Mr. Schubert has failed to order our father’s military headstone. Mr. Schubert reported ordering the headstone on 7.29.2021 and 9.7.2021, however, we as a family consistently followed up with the National Cemetery Association who reported that no paperwork has been received. The fact nearly five months has passed without this simple task being completed and/or followed-up on is a direct reflection of Mr. Schubert’s lack of consideration for the grieving family. Overall Mr. Schubert’s limited consideration for the family, inability to complete job tasks, and general disregard for quality services has resulted in a prolonged grieving process for our family. As a funeral home director; the position is designed to assist grieving families through an extraordinarily challenging time which Mr. Schubert has failed to do. I have spoken with Mr. Schubert personally and verbalized several of our concerns; some of which were highlighted here and some of which were omitted. Overall, I would not recommend Schubert-Greenwood Funeral Home to those who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. I hope Mr. Schubert is receptive to the feedback our family has provided and makes a conscious effort to improve his customer service, compassion, and respect for his consumers.
Matt took the time to accommodate the families wishes and made sure everything turned out just the way we wanted. Would highly recommend...
Matt made the process of something very difficult easier. He truely did a great job and was so caring to our family.
