The star is because of one person and one person only; I will get to that. My friend and I came here on the morning of July 31st, looking to catch a Greyhound from Richmond to New York City. We were attended to by a single worker, an angel by the name of Sarah. From the moment we walked up to the back where she was stationed, she was dealing with customers coming at her from all sides, all this with the sweetest demeanor and the patience of Job. When we got to Sarah, she assured us that we'd be addressed via the PA system when the bus driver arrived. Later that morning, a driver entered from one of the side doors, whispering sweet nothings to no one in particular before disappearing. That was apparently our 10:15 to NYC not Sarah's fault! My friend and I spoke to Sarah, and she was able to reschedule us for 3 PM. She would go on to tell me how she was in recovery from a stroke, still struggling to regain use of the right side of her body. That was apparently her second or third day manning the customer service section BY HERSELF. Why, Greyhound? She dealt with angry customers, and had to use her phone to reassure, in Book Spanish, a Hispanic customer and their companion about a bus that hasn't arrived yet again, out of Sarah's hands. My friend didn't like the bathroom, while I opted not to utilize it. The whole place was dingy and waterbug-friendly. There were outlets available for use, but any plugs used had to be held in place. The benches were uncomfortable and noisy; one fidget this way or the other would move the whole thing and make it creak. If folks are going to spend hours on end in a bus station, comfortable seating should be non-negotiable. That afternoon, Sarah continued to deal with a deluge of angry customers mad at her for what seemed to be a concerted mutiny by some Greyhound drivers. From the time she was relieved at 5:50 PM, she addressed everyone as professionally as anyone I've ever seen. The entire day. There was a steep decline in morale and demeanor between Sarah and her replacements. I don't blame those workers, either, to be honest. Greyhound hung this woman out to dry, and she took it like a champ despite her shift ending at 4 PM. How did I know? Because our 3 PM bus would arrive five hours late, so we were there to make sure that Sarah knew that there were people who supported her. Promote this woman, Greyhound. Better yet? Let her go to a company that will treat her, at the very least, like a human being. Get your bag, Sarah!
I was the Baltimore downtown station and it has a good reception area to sit and wait for your bus. The station also has a small restaurant within the premises for your snacks and soft drinks. But the washroom wasn't accessible because there was a sign put at the entrance which read: "DO NOT USE". I had to carry my full bladder to empty in the bus. Again, the on board WiFi did not work for me even though it was connected. The driver of the bus was polite, friendly and good at her job...
Groddy, the floor sweats, the bathrooms are worst than horrible and I didn’t even look at the snacks or beverages. They also have these very uncomfortable seats and for some reason some of them rock back slightly? Maybe that wasn’t so much a feature, but more so a lack of maintenance. Glad I had to spend the minimum amount of time in here transferring to another bus.
I would give them zero stars if it was an option. This really is the worst bus that I have ever taken, people are smoking their e-cigarettes right next to you the stuff is quite rude and the bus smells horrible. Level of sanitation is zero. This bus should be stopped. Not only did they delay us for 2 hours last minute but stuff didn’t even know what the hell was going on. For us to spend 60 dollars on this ticket just to get this treatment is horrible. This is the last time I ever take the greyhound bus. I should have known better.
Horrible Company without an infrastructure. Didn’t give me a assign seat after not properly scanning my ticket causing me to be left in Delaware with my luggage still on board. trip was for Raleigh , NC I had to have a family member drive 3 hours out to pick me up. We contacted greyhound so I could intercept my luggage, but Literally lied about creating a report. The bus then took a detour to Virginia where I was told by the employee himself when he arrived in Raleigh. Had my PS5 not been under the bus, that too would’ve been left in Virginia. I’m missing Thousands of dollars worth of items. They make it impossible to reach them by use of third party vendors acting as their call center. Baggage claims are terrible with this company. To top it all off, they are refusing me a refund and offering credit to make up for the major inconveniences and losses experienced by this company. STAY AWAY FROM GREYHOUND
Hell on earth experience... it also helped staff knew was totally clueless?? The whole station looked like it was stuck in a time wrap !! No wifi & good luck finding a power outlet that worked most are broken... The staff acted like people traveled here for there enjoyment... avoid this place if you enjoy sanity !!
Man I bought a ticket upfront with my card just for the lady to say a ticket wasn’t generated from their machine… I HAD TO BUY A WHOLE NOTHER ONE she told me that I’d have to wait for a REFUND 7to10 Business days..Nuts…&& I STILL NEVER GOT MY MONEY BACK.. this place mad nasty ..old dusty the seats are all broken uncomfortable I don’t even know why people would eat out of there..
The premises are beyond NASTY! Restrooms are unusable as to the non toilet paper, pissy floors and toilets rusty pipes and filth. The seating for patrons is dirty. There is no lighting outside during nightly and early morning hours. Hedgebblocking view
Dirty. A lot of unsavory types. One female security guard wasn't doing anything but walking around and flirting with some random passenger. Another guy was yelling at a cop because he got kicked off of a bus. There was one worker in the restaurant and you can tell she hates her job. On top of the trash can in the restaurant was a makeshift -fruit fly trap, filled with at least 3 inches of fruit fly carcasses, while live ones circled the trash. Vending machines didn't work. Oh, and there was some girl doing heroine in the bathroom. If you have to stop here, I suggest you say dead center of the station where there's lights and people. If you have to use the bathroom or would like fresh food, I strongly advise against pursuing either of those needs at this station.
The bus ride was good, the drivers were on time; there were vending machines for snacks. It was difficult to hear the overcom inside or outside. We went to the next stop and the rest rooms were absolutely atrocious. I decided to just hold my urine longer. No one was working there to keep the restrooms clean. Please do better!
