Awesome train station!!! Busy, crowded and great trains...! Lots of tourist info center, prepaid toilets, cafe florist, small retails shops, pharmacy.. so many options!! be careful with pick pockets.. even though their is police and securities and cameras..!!
From an aesthetic perspective, this is a very beautiful Gare, with an exquisite 19th century architecture worth of a Château. Travel wise, never had an issue in this Gare. Security wise, the surrounding is not very reassuring especially in evenings. The 5 stars are for the beauty of this historical monument.
One of the biggest train station in Paris, clean and well maintained, securities and police are visible, so safety is guaranteed. Wi-fi is strong, so the moment you arrived in the platform, signal is available already, no problem if you are waiting for someone. There are chairs as well anywhere. The sncf information desk is very visible if you need help. There are lots of shops on the upper floors and food chains near the main entrance. It's the same terminal for eurostar trains. Trains straight to and from CDG airport also stopped by here.
Warning If you are purchasing tickets for metro/subway or any kind transportation from information centre or from anywhere else, please write your first name, last name, journey start and end date on the tickets as shown otherwise RATP inspectors would charge you €35 per ticket whenever they’ll check your tickets. Information counter person didn’t tell us and we paid the fines… please be aware!! About the station… too crowded and okay types.. nothing special!! Better lean some lines in French, that would be useful!
Cool place. Good amount of shops to spend your time if you need to wait a bit. Luggage locker is in the Downstairs and you can exchange € note to coin for luggage lockers. Just stay alert from the scammers from the moment you step in the station.
This international train station has secret features: a luggage storage underground! Take the escalator down to rent a car and you find lockers for your bags. There is a security control, then a monitored for your belongings. Lockers are available in different sizes, you don't need to talk to anyone, you can pay cash or credit card walls on the left. The price for medium locker is EUR 7,50 for the first 24 hours. Remember to keep the receipt. Easy to reach, safe and reasonable price.
It was a wonderful trip from Paris. To London Very convenient. Train also has wifi. We got the premium class.
Clean station facilities is a plus with good signage to navigate your way around the station. However, the Eurostar terminal is badly planned and doesn't encourage flow through French and then UK border officials, instead going around a long loop that doesn't seem to move. You don't want to turn up too early as you will be held in the queue but if you turn up 30mins before the departure you will struggle to get through the bureaucracy in time. What I didn't see but perhaps missed as I was quite tired by this point was a water refill station.
This station is a significant point for tourists and domestic travellers alike. The station is well organised to maintain the amount of people travelling through here at any given moment which is quite a lot. The station is well sign-posted with easy access to the Paris metropolitan system as well as taxis and buses. The only problems faced here were with border control. Many of the identification systems in place for passports were not operational which meant that waiting times were significantly increased. Therefore, many Eurostar trains were delayed due to this.
Beautiful train station in Paris and very busy. If you traveling to destination like London. Get there minimum one hour ahead to go through customs.
