Worst place to ever have to go to. AVOID AT ALL COST. EXCEPT For the security lady who helps to find which bus to get on and that isn't her job. No one else will help you get to right line. But someone gotta do it. Tickets sales, mean and ready to help you fail. Amtrak or fly. or walk or rent a car.. But stay away from Chicago downtown Greyhound bus!!! I'M JUST SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE!!!
DO NOT RIDE GREYHOUND!! This is one of the worst travel experiences I have ever had. After being delayed 3 hours, my bus arrived and then didn’t start. Then another bus was coming to us in 45-1hr additional time. That is over 4 hours of delay. After 3 hours, I could not longer wait and had to use other transportation. They also added an additional muster charge to my account of $12.50. Per their website/terms and condition, if your bus is delayed over 2 hours and you do not use it, you are eligible for a refund. I filled out the refund request form online and was met a response not acknowledging the additional fee and saying they could not offer a refund. I called customer service who said I am eligible for a refund, but they cannot give a refund over the phone, but if I fill out the form online which I expressed I already did, they would refund me. I filled out the form again, also noting the additional charge and was met with the same response as before. I sent screen shots of their terms and conditions and received a response that the 2 hours delay for a refund is only if I didn’t use the ticket. I explained again that I did not use the ticket and it was delayed for 4 hours. I was met with a generic response that they can’t refund me. This is extremely UNETHICAL that they charged me an additional mystery fee and are refusing to refund me despite adhering to the terms and conditions. It seems their staff in any capacity has no able to offer refunds, even if I was charged extra and am eligible for one per their terms and conditions. AWFUL experience and encourage no one to ride with this company.
It doesn’t matter how nice you are, the staff is never friendly. It’s a really shame, not the employees but the company itself that probably is not a good work environment. For the prices and quality of service, I’d never recommend it. Unfortunately it’s the only option for some places. Also the McDonald’s stops are creepy and don’t make you feel safe, specially for night trips when the McDonald is not 24h.
Greyhound bus station very cool and all I be enjoying the people that I will never see again, love when I arrive in Chicago off lamers bus. Even though I’m not from from Chicago when I arrive here it so much like home also when I arrive to Chicago I know I’m so much closer to my destination, and when returning to Chicago I know I’m not that far from Wisconsin. I’m southern guy enjoying the living in the Midwest thanks for all you ladies and guys do to make sure every passenger get on their correct bus!!!
Great experience in a long time! Took the new flix bus with Miller transportation. The driver was awesome, the ride was very comfortable & about 25 people total! Made it very enjoyable, can't wait for my next trip
The workers were very helpful and courteous. It's an old building but pretty clean. My bus arrived in time and arrived on time. The bus driver was very helpful.
Greyhound needs to do better. I was forced to miss my connecting bus because the driver of the bus before this stop was almost an hour late & the excuse that is given is maybe the missed an exit while the staff laugh in your face. I have now been forced to be in this bus station for 23 1/2 hrs!!! Little to no sleep at all because the security will come single me out & yell at me that I need to be in a seat. Whole trying to explain that ive been awake for over 24hrs & asking for compassion or empathy all I got was yelled over that I will be kicked out, that me being here is not his problem & ill be stranded on the street if I didnt get up fast enough for him!!! How rude & nasty of him to be this way with someone who has paid & then was forced to be late & then forced to go without sleep as if this is a concentration camp with inhumane torture with people who dont care even in the least to hear you cry out. DO BETTER GREYHOUND!!!! lose the macho attitude & realize we are human too not just money to your company!!! Pathetic excuse of a company is what I see & I will aviod ever trying to go the greyhound route ever again!!!
I understand Greyhound bus stations are extremely busy, however, more attention must be directed towards the sanitary conditions of the establishment as well as the bus.
