This is the only soul food establishment in Ascension Parish Louisiana, to my knowledge. The food is great, especially the lasagna, and the customer service is awesome. This is a restaurant that I enjoy more and more each time I visit there. I mainly get it to go. I’ve never had a bad meal or bad service at this place. Great plate lunches with home-style dishes cooked the way it’s supposed to be done. If you’re looking for food the way you had it as a kid, this place is perfect. Smothered pork chops or chicken that won’t disappoint. These ladies know how to cook!
We love their home-cooked plate lunches. My favorites are fried chicken, chicken fried steak, potato salad, spaghetti and cheese.
It was just what I needed, it was as close to home cooking as it gets. The baked chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Oh how I love cheesy and creamy spaghetti and cheese, that's macaroni and cheese for non-Louisiana palates. What's best is it is chicken as grown, not the steroid pumped chicken.
Very courteous and respectful personal. The cook came and talked to me making sure everything was ok with food and portions were plentiful. Owner and I had good conversations and shared laughter together. Worth stopping again.
I had the Spaghetti and Meatballs, with Yams, and Potatoes Salad. The meal was very tasty. I was given a generous portion. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was great and the place was neat and clean.
