Grouse Nest Restaurant

My Wife and I have been going to this place for special occasions for over 7 yrs. We love the place. Food and service has always been great! Love the setting and atmosphere. Yes you pay a little more for this level of dining in a remote area but we have always considered it well worth the price. The pictures on the their website are exactly the way it looks in the middle of the summer. If you go there in the winter of course it won't be as green. The driveway up to the restaurant is a little steep and rough in places so you need to use common sense and take it slow. I could see where it might be a little scary some life long flatlanders but that's why it's called Hocking Hills! If you like the flat land stay up north.

My wife and I went in for lunch. It was something of a climb for a FWD car, but we made it. The decor is not particularly fancy. I waited around 15 minutes for my draft beer to arrive, and around 45 minutes to 1 hr for the food to arrive. I ordered a reuben, so I'm not sure what took so long. Many of the tables were left dirty for long periods of time. I also noticed another table had to wait so long that they had to take the younger kids on a small walk until the food arrived. Nobody else was in the restaurant. The food eventually arrived warm and well-prepared. The reuben was quite good, as were the fresh potato chips. If it weren't for the huge wait times with no apologies or explanations I'd gladly come back.

the grouse nest catered our daughters wedding on september 13 2014 at woodland ridge cabin.they did an amazing job!! It was just beautiful.they were very kind and the food was wonderful,rave reviews from all that attended.they set up everything up-candles,runners,flowers,water goblets then packed all leftovers up for the late nite munchies. everything was taken down while we enjoyed being with our guests.I was very impressed and would recommend them highly. thank you grouse nest !!

Called to make reservations and no one answers the phone. We decided to just go and when we arrive they won't seat us because we didn't make reservations. There were literally 4 people in the place. Good luck making it up the gravel driveway.

horrible,what a rip off had the 4oz fillet special for 18.95 plus added the 12.00 lobster tail,steak came out as a single bite,lobster tail came late after dinner was done,should have pick up on we were the only ones there,shame on the ownership,we'll never be back or reccomend this place,save your time and money go elsewhere
