The Department of Residence Life's mission is to integrate living and learning, while supporting the educational goals of our students and the University.
Georgia Southwestern offers a unique experience in community living. The various living options of traditional residence hall rooms, suites, and apartments are designed to help meet the needs of our students. The residential community offers students the opportunity for learning beyond the classroom walls, and provides programs designed to meet the students’ social, recreational, emotional, intellectual, cultural, and educational needs. As a member of the residential community, each student has an opportunity to gain personal growth and lasting friendships.
The Mission of the Office of Residence Life is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for students to live and study, to create a sense of community among the residents, and to foster individual development through involvement in residence life and student life activities.
Residence Life is also committed to:
● Fostering the academic success of all residential students
● Implementing policies and procedures that encourage residents to make responsible choices
● Recognizing and respecting individual rights and differences and the value of diversity in the residential community
● Empowering residents to shape their community and gain leadership experience by taking an active roles in the Residence Hall Councils and the Residence Hall Association
