It seems like it's a trend for this firm to make simple accounting mistakes on tax returns costing their clients time and money. When mistakes are make they deny their mistakes and push the client to deal with the IRS and the repercussions of their doing. We were no different. Deadlines were missed bc they were too busy. Causing us to pay penalties. mistakes were made and submitted to the IRS filing status error, deduction errors, and filing deadline missed. Nevertheless, when the IRS responded the Guerrero firm responded with its not my problem. After several attempts Mr. Guerrero himself stated he was not going to assist and it was our issue. After being reviewed by several other firms all the mistakes are being resolved. SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND MONEY. DO NOT USES THESE PPL. AS THEY WILL NOT DO IT CORRECTLY NOR WILL THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK.
Ed and his team have been great! Ed has patiently answered all my questions and his team are very responsive to my emails and phone calls. He individualizes your tax strategy and helps you connect with contacts to carry out your plan. I appreciate the work they put into helping my small business grow.
UPDATE JUNE 2023: FILED EXTENSIONS ON BEHALF WITH NO AUTHORIZATION, NOTICE, OR COMMUNICATION. Complicated and delayed my 2022 filing by the CPA that was actually hired. I typically don't review publicly of poor service and to address it privately. While I've provided my feedback privately with little to know empathy or results, I feel it's almost a public service at this point to post as the repercussions of their work will be with me for a while and may help someone else avoid it. It seems like there are unqualified preparers doing the then the "consult" with the CPA is not thorough, personalized, certainly not looking out for my best interest or even checking for accuracy. Its just for show it seems like. It took 5 tries to finally get my 2021s in a condition I was willing to sign off on. I found errors with each appt that they needed to rework.. *Also, my new car in 2020 filing was set up as mileage deduction vs. depreciation. I don't know the difference but I sure learned the difference! In questioning my 2021 preparations I literally LOST $5K this year alone in refund because of that strategy. I saw the tally change, just like that when he corrected the entry from Depreciation to mileage. And am now stuck in this mileage mode until I buy another car. *My property management expenses weren't included. I unfortunately didn't catch that one and can't quantify that $ impact. *I had a w9 for a contract employee courtesy of Ed's presentations/suggestions. I asked 3 times to make sure they got it and included those expenses. NO reply. So it wasn't included but was just beyond frustrated to keep trying to CPA my CPA and dropped it. *And in preparing for my 2022 filing I see that my balance sheet isn't even balanced. *Also, my LLC wasn't renewed on the Sec of State site. I sent both SOS notices with assurances it would be done. It wasn't as it turns out. This came to light because I was selling one of my LLC properties, and the "voluntary withdrawn" status on SOS site was a HUGE issue. It was a panic with the SALE of one of my properties as my LLC was in a voluntarily withdrawn status since 2020 thus not in standing to sell anything. Thankfully Gloria was able to get this fixed in time for Closing. The list goes on and am angry at the lack of care or consideration of my financial health and my time especially considering the cost of their services. Terrible.
Great job Ed !! - my taxes are kind of complex from owning rental properties - Ed has By Far the most experience and knowledge about this- especially vs the other 10 firms I interviewed and have used over the years.
Ed and his amazing team have been helping us with our taxes for several years. We are now working with him on tax strategies. All I can say if you are high income earners and haven't talked to Ed, you're costing yourself money and doing yourself a disservice! Call him right now!!!
This is our first time working with Mr. Guerrero and his staff for our annual 1040 adventure. From the start we could tell this organization has traveled this path many times. We were always given very clear direction and guidance on what we needed to do to gather and organize our information. For first time out with Ed, things went very smoothly. Best of all once we provided all necessary information, they cranked out our return very quickly. We also appreciate all the great advice Ed dropped on us for our future returns and associated activities. Thank you, Ed, Melinda and Minerva. We even liked the "virtual assistant"! Yvonne & Jose Castorena
1st off I went with Ed's group for education into tax staggery and decided to allow them to do my 1st round of taxes. The 1st meeting was good, but after that, deadlines were missed, lots of miscommunication, and we caught a tax mistake during a meeting to review our taxes. Not only did we catch their mistake but we also had to inform them about the documented they requested was already given to them on their portal. . n. I would guess that maybe the focus their A team on the bigger clients but for people starting out trying to start a side hustle, do yourself a favor and stay away. I would say, used Turbo Tax, because at least they can help you if you get into legal issues. I was so hopeful for this group but at the end of the day they continued to under preform.
Ed Guerrero and his AMAZING team have been my CPA for almost 10 years! He and his staff have handled my personal taxes, my real estate investments and helped me incorporate my business. Ed is a Real Estate investor himself so he is highly knowledgeable in this area! I would not trust anyone else with my taxes. Thanks for all you do Ed and staff. You are the BEST!!
No follow up and most poorly run office I've ever dealt with. Ed doesn't respond to emails and has staff do it. The emails appear to be written by someone just learning English. I got audited and was left to fend for myself. Find another accountant.
