It is a stop on the commuter Lakeshore East line and also for intercity Via Rail services running from Toronto to Ottawa and Montreal.HistoryThe station was meant to provide an easy connection to Toronto Transit Commission buses along Kingston Road as well as car parking. Since the commuter train service was initially only a demonstration the land close to the overpass and the bus stop there could not be acquired due to the cost. This has resulted in quite a long walk for pedestrians using local transit. As of January 31, 2016, both platforms will be closed at the east end for construction of a new tunnel and accessibility platform and station building upgrades. This means that GO Trains will only open the five east end coaches of the train. Work is scheduled to be completed by late 2018.Connecting transitToronto Transit Commission's 86 Scarborough bus route has a stop on Kingston Road beside the station entrance. The bus route operates between Kennedy Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway, the Toronto Zoo, and the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Beechgrove Drive.
