This is one of our go-to parks. It has separate playgrounds for bigger and smaller kids, each with its own play structure, slides, and swing set. The whole area is mostly shaded by the live oaks surrounding and in the park, which is great on hot, sunny days. The ground is mostly sand with rubber-based play surface immediately surrounding the smaller play structure, so remember to empty out those shoes before getting back in the car! At the back of the park are stairs leading down to a small dock with a bench. It's a nice place to let the kids look for fish, crabs, or birds. Be careful, though, there are no safety railings around the dock. There is one small, covered pavilion and two other picnic tables, as well as a bench or two. There is a water fountain, but it has very low pressure, so I suggest bringing your own. My only complaint is that the is no fence along the front of the park. There is a large area of grass between the play areas and the road, so it's not what I would call dangerous, but it could be improved. And lastly, you can even stop at the little library right outside the gate on your way home!
This is a nice neighborhood park with plenty of shade, picnic tables and play areas for the children.
