About

We have been a local feed distributor for over 20 years for the city of Pasadena, but we attract customers from all over.

Description

We carry Wendlands, , Purina, Evans, Linders, MG, and Nutrena Feeds. This includes horse feed, steer feed, chicken feed, etc. We also carry an assortment of dog food such as , Victor, Diamond, Chicken Soup, Taste of the Wild, Nutro, , Sportmix, as well as many other brands. We also offer a wide range of cat foods.

We are very involved in FFA & 4H activities, providing feed and supplements, and participating in the local rodeos and shows. We also carry bird seed for parrots, parakeets, cockatiels, doves, quails, ducks, as well as several different types of exotic animal feed.

We also carry Deer protein, seed, plants and fertilizers, as well as supplements and tack. Our selection is vast, but if you need something that we don't have, rest assured that we will do our best to order it for you! Had an issue with hay rental. Rented 8 bales prior to Halloween and was told that it would be $3 per bale to rent and $10 per bale to buy/if returned damaged. Was never told how long the rental period was and nothing was noted on my receipt. I was unable to return the hay the day after Halloween due to weather and we left out of town for 2 weeks right after. Hay was kept safe and dry in my garage. I get back from out of the country to a voicemail saying since they haven’t heard from me they will be charging me full price which I did not authorize. I call them in hopes of explaining the situation and returning said hay since it was still dry. “No we cannot as we have already charged you and most people return it the next day”. They were rude and unhelpful. Hah was still returned in perfect condition since I don’t have a need for hay. I won’t be using gulf Tex any longer. What “most people do” is not a business model or time line especially since they don’t discuss up front what the expectations are.
Didn't have Victor's today because they're all sold out. They were quick to show me they had some temporary alternatives and gave them to me for free until tomorrow when they're stocked up again! People working here are crazy knowledgeable about the products they sell, and could answer any question you have!
This is one of the only places I can get my pup’s dog food as the brand is not carried by typical chains. The prices are great and the people are even better. They really are super friendly. Thanks Gulf Tex!
The place was a mess, the rabbits in hot conditions, crammed on top of each other with a fan blowing hot air. They didn't carry a lot of variety of dog food that was actually good for the dog. The guys were nice just not too knowledgeable on product for dealing with termites and so forth. They do have those free pet food samples.
i have been looking for champion horse feed every where on this side of town and gulf tex is the only feed store that had it, i ended up going there and of course i ended up coming out with a variety of items more thanks to staff and the great prices. i will be coming back and will definitely recommend people to come here.
I LOVE this store!!!! Jennifer ALWAYS ALWAYS makes a point to take the time needed to help each customer. She is very knowledgeable in the care for many animals and will guide you to the necessary meds. My young daughters and I once brought a sick bunny to her to get advice, Jennifer knew the rabbit was near death and insisted on GIVING my girls a baby bunny to help with their grief!!! My sick bunny did NOT even come from her store!!! That's just the way she is... she has a compassionate heart :
Highly recommend this place. Service is great n friendly Spent 2 days looking for medication for my new pet rabbit. Everyone was out or didn't carry such meds. Gulf-tex aslo didn't have any for sale but did have some of their own. They didnt hesitate to give me some. Yes, they refuse to take my money and sent me home with the meds I needed.. Really is a blessing.. They have no idea how they made our day.. We will be getting all our pet needs from here for now on. Thank You guys soo much.
Always out of my Mg All Grain Dry feed, after owner repeatedly promised me he'd keep it on hand. Very inconvenient and disappointed. Been a loyal customer for 20 years. Ray's is my feed store from now on.
Love this place I go there because of the variety of foods for your fur babies specially since one of mines is allergic to pretty much every type of food I was able to find a brand that my fur baby is not allergic to!!! thanks gulf-tex feed.
When you rely on a business to be the provider for feed for an animal, you should have the confidence that the business will have the products they sell in stock when you need it. Gulf-Tex does not have that reliability or comitment to their customers! They ran out of the feed needed for our goat and said it would be two weeks before it was set to come in. No other alternatives were available either. They left us in a desperate position just two weeks before showing and had an “oh well” attitude to boot. The young man stated “well, we’re getting out of the show feed business anyway” and shrugged his shoulders.
