Partnering to build homes through "a hand up not a hand out."
Habitat for Humanity of Worcester County, Inc. is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. In partnership and under the guidelines set forth by HFHI, we provide safe, affordable houses for lower income families by building from the ground up. We also provide additional permanent housing solutions by performing critical repairs and weatherization for homeowners in need. Habitat does not provide free or rental housing.
Habitat homes are built in part with volunteer efforts and donated materials, keeping the overall costs lower. Partner families who become homeowners then pay the cost to build back at zero percent interest mortgage loans for a certain number of years. Habitat affiliates do not make a profit off of the homes they build. Mortgage payments go towards building homes for new families.
We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness by bringing families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing.
Housing via traditional builds for partner families, or critical repairs for existing homeowners; gently used appliances, furniture and building supplies at bi-monthly warehouse sales.
