Hackmann Lumber and Home Centers have a heritage that extends back nearly two centuries! The original Hackmann Lumber store dates back to 1815, but its current family ownership took over in 1945 when John Wetter and a partner purchased the St. Charles business. From 1971 to 2000, the Wetter family added more locations in St. Charles, O'Fallon and Troy, MO.

We can help with all of your home projects ranging from millwork, real wood decking, Vinyl & PVC decking, fireplaces, furniture & much more!

At Hackmann Lumber, we work with St. Louis area developers & contractos by offering delivery services.

In the last few years, the Wetter family implemented key relocations that will ultimately benefit their positioning in the market.

In 2002, the St. Charles Capitol Drive location was closed due to traffic restrictions, and the Wetters upgraded both St. Charles Highway 94 and Troy locations.

These folks are so awesome i would have given them 100 stars if i could have , Everyone was so helpful. My husband & I had to order the materials from Florida, they were going to ship it ro us, but we decided a nice 15 hour road trip would be better. They returned emails & calls all days of the week & accommodated us with keeping the material all wrapped for our travels back. Then after we showed up even the folks out in the warehouse were so sweet got us a few t-shirts upon request of course & a hat. They were just so awesome. Could not have had a better sweeter experience with Hackmann's. Thank you all so so much
We had a fantastic experience with Hackmann when ordering our decking material. We were doing the deck ourselves, but needed advice regarding how much and which materials to order. Keith Boal was helpful from start to finish. I highly recommend them for your decking needs.
Hackmann Lumber is the Absolute Best! We reached out to them for composite deck material. Initially, we ordered from a different company because we were told the material would be available in 48 hours. When that didn't happen, we reached out to Keith who had everything in stock. We went that day and picked it all up. The Hackmann team did an amazing job loading, wrapping, and securing the boards for transport. Although we live 30 miles away, we will go to Hackmann for all future needs. Again, Hackmann Lumber is the Absolute Best!
Catrina and Cindy were awesome! They helped us take a contractor’s deck drawing put that into an order with all the supplies needed. Catrina even made a recommendation for a new no-maintenance lattice screen that looks like it came out of Architectural Digest. Not the type of service you get at a big box store! We’ll be back!!
Keith Nordman in The decking Dept was wonderful. He immediately took ownership of our decking requirements. We were so impressed with his product knowledge on decking that he was able to enable us to check off a couple of decking materials that we want to purchase from Hackmann. It was quite apparent to us that Keith was genuinely interested in our decking shopping experience. He is very personable and professional.
Friendly, hometown staff. I design/build a lot of decks. I send all of my customers here to pick out the colors and styles of decking and handrail systems because they have the best selection and pricing. 5 stars across the board.
They are so helpful & curious! They are your small town, I have no idea how to fix this thing, store!!!!! They have anything you would need plus some & lots of BEAUTIFUL things for your yard & home!
Terry St. Clair stopped what he was doing and gladly assisted us. He even went out of his way to go find some samples of Hardi backer, that were empty on the floor.
I worked for Hackmann back in the early 90’s. After being laid off from Boeing Aerospace, I needed a way to support my family. Brenda, Larry, Brian and Laura welcomed me into the company with open arms. Coming from a military background, I had a lot to learn about working with civilians in a public setting. I can’t begin to tell you how well I was treated. I was trained that the customer was paramount and Hackmann was highly encouraging in customer satisfaction. I highly recommend Hackmann as a professional, family owned and operated business with the highest of my respect.
As we struggled to get our deck done with a bad first choice contractor, the only saving grace for my sanity was the team at Hackmann and our second great choice contractor. Throughout it all, the team at Hackmann took the time to discuss what we were doing, offer suggestions and figure out what, and in some cases how many, we needed. Then they delivered it when we needed it and placed it where we asked them to. They custom ordered some items for us and got them to us quickly. It was easy to return stocked products and they even took the time to help me figure out how to send in the warranty on the products. Who does that?! They simply could not have been better to us. Whatever your hardware needs, whether it's lumber, composite decking, railing, nails, paint, electrical, plumbing, BBQ grills, gardening supplies, even birthday cards and Cardinals novelties, and of course everything hardware related, go to our hometown Hackmann store. You'll be happy you did.
