Our organization is a consulting firm with the sole objective to help Haiti advance as a developing nation in regards to law & justice in the 21st century.
The Haitian-American Institute for Justice and Law (HAIJL) is a non-profit organization. Founded by Alfred Reynolds on November 8, 2010 with the advice of his friend, Edouard Onguene Onana, the organization becomes fully operational on January 2014.
The Haitian-American Institute for Justice and Law (HAIJL)’s primary goal focuses on providing a wide range of legal consulting services throughout the United States, Canada and Haiti. HAIJL wants to reach out to a diverse Haitian population whose access to such services is impeded by language barriers, poverty, limited education, and the difficulty to travel. Aside from the civil society, HAIJL wants to reach out to members of NGOs, churches, private businesses, grassroots organizations, and to the different sectors or members of the Haitian government that search for help to better run their department.
The Haitian-American Institute for Justice and Law (HAIJL) seeks to serve primarily the Haitian community by providing a variety of consultation services in the field of Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice, Immigration, Business Law, International Law, Property (real estate) Law, Arbitration and Conflict Resolution.
Mission: The Haitian-American Institute for Justice and Law (HAIJL) wants to be a catalyst of changes within the legal system of Haiti. HAIJL is welcoming public-private partnerships in order to serve the needs of the Haitian community at-large while increasing their legal protection and participation in civic and governmental affairs.
Vision: The Haitian Diaspora is recognized throughout the world as a force in maintaining the stability of Haiti through their cash flow to the benefits of their relatives. In those regards, HAIJL wants to play its role by being a legal consultant to the members of the Diaspora who want a better service when making business transactions with Haiti.
Purpose: Provide legal consultation services within Haiti and the Haitian Diaspora.
