Main street packed with all sorts of craft and food vendors, and the championship highest weighted pumpkin. The traffic in and out of HMB is horrendous, fits the Halloween theme. On this 50th anniversary of the festival, once there we enjoyed our time there seeing the tens of thousands of visitors just having a good time as prior to the pandemic, hardly a worn, plenty of choice food to eat, a few activities for kids and plenty of bands playing up beat music. Even though the day was cloudy, we enjoyed our time at the festival.
Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival is one of the signature events in Half Moon Bay Got a chance to see the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off However, we missed the Great Pumpkin Parade coz of visiting booths at the main street Booths are more than expected they sell different pumpkin related products and art products People are wearing customs as well! feeling festive
Complete waste of time for parents with kids. The festival has nothing “special” to offer. On top of that incoming and outgoing traffic is terrible. It took us 2 hours getting out of the festival area plus regular drive time. I would totally avoid if going with kids.
Awesome event! Must come out. SAT. OCT. 15 and SUN. OCT.16
A great, fun festival for all! If you despise traffic, beware! This is not the event for you! Since highway one is generally a one/two lane highway, you are pretty much guaranteed to hit traffic. There is however a secret passage if you go South then through Lobitos and Tunitas Creek Road that will take you to Skyline Blvd and thus the 280. This road is not for inexperienced drivers! The festival itself was pretty well organized and there were a lot of cool booths featuring local artists. I was half expecting to see a field of pumpkins thinking it had a pumpkin patch but they don't sell pumpkins apparently. Food is good and unique because it's all pumpkin themed and flavored. Lots of alcohol for the adults. And the music was lovely. Side note, I looked on the website to see if I could bring my dog and it said no... I saw hella dogs walking around!
Lot of art and craft vendors out there along with live music
It was so overly crowded you could hardly enjoy anything
