Overall it went mostly as expected, you take in books to 'sell' and they give you a low offer I got $20 for three boxes of books. You have to stay in store while they look through, which is fine, but if you happen to see one of the books you are selling and take a look you know they make a KILLING off of the buy/sell market with what they offer for books that are in great condition. If I hadn't driven half an hour to get there and I wasn't in a crunch for space I would have absolutely found another way to sell my books. Works in a pinch if you are planning to throw the bills away otherwise, but if you want to actually make a few bucks back in good books I would say go somewhere else.
Unique and random selection of books. My first time visiting a Half Price in years. I usually buy books online. The person I came with was looking for something specific. I browsed but there was no place to sit and read for a few minutes. So I probably won’t be back. Potential customer lost. They seemed to be busy though.
Horrible customer service I have received due to “returning too many books”. I purchase hundreds of books from Half Price Books all the time and I have noticed that I had a few defected ones so I tried to return them, but rather telling me politely that I can not return so many at the same time, I was told to “Select my books more carefully next time”. Also while I was looking for books they have purposely pushed books on the shelf to block my search on multiple occasions. Do not recommend shopping at this location, rest of the half price book stores are great.
Great HPB. Friendly staff, well stocked with misc items like games, vinyl, and more. Always something new to find!
Service is not bad. However buy back programs rips you off. Around 200$ worth books all great authors collection, still I got 30$.
Always love HPB and this location! The staff is friendly, courteous and very helpful finding the books that I am looking for. And the prices are the best
Half priced books is my favorite store. Although the Lewisville location is probably the smallest that I've been to, it has some awesome gems. They have a very good collection of childrens books and random stuff for kids. Very helpful staff will help you find whatever it is that you are looking for and if it's not at their location they can help order it for you!
Pleasant greeting when entering the store. She checked us out with a smile which was the same person and was nice and patient with us.
Friendly and informative ..... only if you want to sell books, be sure and bring your driver's license. My husband drove me, so I didn't have it on me.
HPB gives me the same vibes as an adult that Toys R Us did when I was a kid in the 80s. The Lewisville store of course has a great selection of so many things, but it's the staff that also makes the place shine - every visit! They offer the old school customer service: you need something and there's actually an employee there happy to help, they're knowledgeable and always so nice. When it comes to books, records, CDs or random gifts for others, I always go to HPB first! I hope there doesn't come a day when these stores no longer exist.
