Absolutely terrible customer service! No apologies after the bus did not arrive on time and I had to wait for two others for another one. They just said “the bus has already departed”. And I was at the stop 20 minutes before the departure time!
Great service! Often catch it from Queens to Sag Harbour. I find it quite safe. Book ahead during busy season.
Memorial day the Hamptons opens. Driving in takes forever on Friday the traffic is a mess. You can take the long island railroad but the jitney is the best way.. they pick you up at many locations throughout Manhattan. Book em...
Great stop with coordinators at the stop to help during busy season Go to shake shack while you wait
I was taking the 9:45 ambassador from Bridgehampton into the city for a dental appointment, when chinking in with the hostess , Joanna, couldn’t find my reservation Nor could I. She was so kind to let me stay on until Southampton Where one reserved seat was a no show! Joanna saved the day with her kindness and consieration… thank you so much‼
The worst experience… the bus driver drove right by the designated stop even though we were right there waiting. We were moved to a later bus because the driver refused to go back for us. That bus was 40 minutes late. All in all we waited over 2 hours because this company is so incompetent. An employee I was on the phone with didn’t even know the difference between the Montauk line and the North Fork line. Absolutely ridiculous
The Jitney is a shocking combination of incompetence and hostile customer service. My bus was over thirty minutes late. When I called to inquire about where the bus was the operator acted like I was the one inconveniencing her. When two other buses arrived I was rudely told that the buses weren’t going to my stop and I would just have to wait. After an hour, I got a cab to my destination. If I knew beforehand how bad the Jitney is, I would have taken the train. The Jitney is the worst bus service I have ever experienced in my life. They fail at even providing transportation and treat you terribly while you wait for buses that never come.
I came here to write about my recent experiences with Hampton Jitney, and seems that I'm not alone in my disappointment with the company. It's getting worst trip by trip. A month ago I was coming back to the city and got my legs squeezed between the front seat and mine. The front seat was broken, the bus was pumping and it came over me. I sent my complain on the website and got no return. This last weekend again was a bad experience, the bus was crowded with people fighting to find a seat and guess what: the AC was broken. And every time now the bus makes a transfer to other vehicle, which is always very inconvenient. So, you take a weekend to relax and come back stressed.
The Jitney feels like a Greyhound bus with a Hampton's price tag. The service has declined but the price has increased. Most of the vehicles are old, badly maintained, and smell terrible. While exacerbated by the pandemic, their poor service was notable as early as 2017. Last winter, they only offered Ambassador buses during peak hours, which felt like a shameless cash grab. Additionally, many Ambassadors charged premium prices for amenities they did not provide, such as drink orders. Their blatant monopoly has protected the business model thus far. However, the LIRR service to Grand Central will launch in 2022, providing a cheaper, more convenient alternative.
Hampton Jitney has gone SOOOO far downhill. No competition means no service. 45 minutes late, standing in the pouring rain to get on a bus with an unusable bathroom. Then waited 20 minutes trapped like a prisoner on the bus with the gross bathroom in the South Hampton parking lot before switching to another bus, which had a broken seatbelt and no open seat to switch to. Called customer service, left voicemail and also emailed but got NO response. Another two more customer service calls today with Crystal and then the worst of all, Raj, who told me I was a child and that he wasn’t going to issue any refund and refused to let me speak to a manager. Condescending and so horribly rude. I’m disgusted and wish there was an alternative but there isn’t so I expect more of the same in the future.
