Hancock County Health Department established in 1925. The Hancock County Health Department provides nursing, environmental, and vital statistics services.
Some of the Public Health nursing services that are provided are immunizations, school nursing, community education, BCMH (Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps), and communicable disease follow up. Several of the environmental services provided are food servicing, vending, public swimming pools, solid waste, and animal bites. The vital statistics department files birth and death certificates as well as issues burial permits.
