I have been on the trail that leads you up to hanging rock. I have to go back to the trails that have waterfalls. I am a bigger girl I definitely would say bring water. And maybe a walking stick. The beginning of the trail started out pretty good and easy. Then you come up to stairs which were not to horrible. Thereafter, you come up to more stairs that are steeper. If you have knee problems just be extra careful. I really enjoyed the view when we got to to the top. I thought I wasn’t going to make it however there are some benches along the way to take some breaks. I would also recommend to drink before hand so you don’t get muscle cramps. It’s worth the view but take it easy. Also you have to time it right to be sure you get back to your car and down the mountain before the sun sets. Have a great time!
This is a beautiful park. The only reason I gave it four stars is because there is a lot of people there. It is more of a tourist trap than a serene location. The falls are very pretty but they are full of people that don’t know how to treat them. I would definitely recommend seeing it, just know what to expect when you go. They have a large visitors center and good maps. It definitely caters to more novice hikers. It was free to hike. Restrooms: They had nice restrooms in the visitors center. Dog-friendliness: There was a very friendly dog running around with a collar and no owner so I’m guessing they are dog friendly.
I really loved here! You can spend a complete perfect day, first hiking, the trail to the top of the mountain is easy if you are condition also thanks to the trees the weather is good, in the offices there are restrooms and drinking fountain and the parking is big, also there are little waterfalls and even a small “beach” of course I’ll come back. Remember: Do not litter and respect other people's space, bc that day there was a guy with a speaker making noise
I love coming to this park, been hundreds of times. They have any sort of trail you could ask for without going to the blue ridge. Moore's knob is a great moderately strenuous hike with a watchtower at the top that I'd recommend. Also the waterfall at the lower cascades is real nice to take a dip in at the end of your hike, but you will have to either drive there or walk a couple miles on a road. All the trails are dog friendly, but please remember to pick up the waste. Restrooms are abundant, and the lake restrooms close during the winter months. All in all a great park that I will continue to visit.
Great place to hike. Well maintained and clearly marked trails. The trees provide lots of shade on the trails too. There are bathrooms and picnic areas, and drinking water fountains at the beginning of the trail, leading to the waterfalls. There are a lot of stairs and rocky surfaces. But it's certainly doable for the average person, if you take it slow. Definitely stretch before the hike. And have water with you on the trail. Restrooms: There are separate men's and women's bathrooms. With full function flushing toilets and sinks and soap and all.
It's a fun experience for the whole family. Kids will love the waterfall with a hike. We spent a night camping there and it was quiet and spacious. There is alot of things to do for an outdoor person. You won't be disappointed.
As far as the hikes, waterfalls, and scenery go, it was beautiful. The top of hanging Rock had such a great view and was worth it. The many waterfalls we saw in the park on various hikes were also beautiful. The Campground itself was only ok. We have a small to medium sized camper and the spots were tough to get into and not the best in general. The bathrooms were definitely dated with quite a few bugs but all in all it was ok. Highly recommend the hikes and waterfalls, the Campground was just alright.
If you are nature lover then you would absolutely love this place, it has too many hiking trails easy, medium and hard, Two major of waterfalls in lower cascade and upper cascade, both are beautiful. Multiple camp sites which are clean and refreshing. Can even spot deer outside of your camp. It also has big swimming area, where you can swim for around 5$ and use boats for $10. Restrooms: Decent enough clean, comes with hot water in camp area. Picnic area: Lots of picnic areas to enjoy

This is a very nice place to see and most importantly it has easy access for disabled people. They have flat walking areas so you don't have to use to stairs to reach the lower falls. They have clean restrooms and a water bottle refill fountain. Plenty of parking.
