We went bowling today for my son’s birthday. I grew up bowling at Plaza lanes in Madison and I haven’t been bowling in over 20 years. It was seven of us, including grandparents and a four-year-old…Lucky was very helpful over the phone and Skyler and Patrick both helped us while we were there today. I was honestly nervous reading all of the bad reviews but we had a great time! It was actually quite busy on a Tuesday afternoon but we had no problem getting a lane. My son loved the arcade. They have a ramp and bumpers for the kids along with shoes that could easily fit my four-year-old who is a size 9. My parents were there with us along with my in-laws and they loved it… not too loud or too quiet just perfect. I loved it so much I’m actually looking at joining a bowling league even though I have no time lol. We are going to come back next year for his birthday and hopefully can make this a monthly thing. The only thing lacking was that we wish the snack bar was open because we would’ve had lunch there. The bathrooms were also clean along with everything else.
I bought a Groupon for this place. Great deal. I had fun with my family. They had bumper guards and slides helps the young ones to bowl for the kids.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$11–15
the staff here are insufferable and need a reality check. poor customer service, easily agitated, and disrespectful. Came on a Thursday with less than 50% of max capacity. I 18y brought my brother and his friends all 11y bowling to ease my mom's stress at home. Purchased 2 games on lane 16. At first, the boys were rowdy and messed with the score once. Staff had to fix our mistake and moving forward I kept the boys in check. However, the machine kept glitching. I tried explaining the situation to the staff 50y w/ gray hair and ear piercings but she insisted it was our fault. They reset the machine but the problem kept appearing. Same woman then spent the entire game 1 staring at us and made us feel uncomfortable. After game 1, I asked if we could switch lanes but she said rudely she couldn't help us. Within 3 frames of game 2 the machine again started glitching. Technician came to help but the machine ended up shutting down. I asked the lady for a refund for only game two, but she explained we already played for some frames and can only give a partial refund. I even offered to receive credit for the arcade so we would still put money in the business but she got even more pissy. I reasoned we should get a full refund taking in account all the inconveniences presented. She then raised her voice, stating that's the rules and it was too bad. Then another staff member 20s tall w/ glasses talked down to me while he was playing clash of clans at the register. Guy couldn't even look me in the eyes nor stop playing on his phone while handling the situation. I ended up taking the partial refund because I felt bad. I realized it must be hard being this old and working at a bowling alley as your main source of income. To be easily agitated at kids over a machine malfunction which is no one's fault and talk down to customers because that is all the control you have in life must be depressing. I wish the lady w/ gray hair good fortune because I'd hate to be in her bowling shoes get the pun?. Blah blah won't come back.
We come with a group every week between 9:30pm to 10:15pm. The bowling alley is open until 11pm, but Ines yells at us every time we come saying she wants to go home early and does not want to accommodate us. She called us “ret@rded” in front of me to her coworker, complaining about the extra work. Each time more than half the bowling alley is open. Our groups only need 3-4 lanes. We have been and would have continued to be providing $250-$500 in weekly business to the bowling alley. As soon as we walk in, Ines greets us with a very rude attitude. She yells, she complains, and she talks in a very condescending way to us. I’m very disappointed and upset. We do not want to come back. I can’t imagine how much business this alley is losing due to the rudeness of the staff.
My team has been going to Hanover Lanes for the last month. Been arriving at 10:15 to play a 30 minute game before they close at 11. Today, Ines yelled at my team, called my coworker the r slur, and said all types of mean things. This is not an establishment that has a positive atmosphere and it is not acceptable to call anyone names, especially slurs. After we said we were not going to bowl due to the treatment, we stayed a minute to finish the drinks we purchased, and she spoke badly about us very loudly to her coworkers. 0 stars for Ines and her poor management. I have a video of the last minute of the way she spoke to us, but I wish I recorded the whole thing.
Needed a break from training at CAE and knocking down some pins at Hanover lanes was what the doctor ordered! Lanes were in great shape. Staff was working hard when I went I arrived, had several different groups bowling. If you’re looking for a good time or want to join a league, I recommend coming to Hanover Lanes!
I went with my coworkers at 10pm only for them to turn us away and call us the "r" word for coming too late. Booton and Rockaway Lanes are much nicer and much friendlier. Will not be coming backWait timeNo wait
The sign should say when they actually close which is an hour before what it says. They said its because they need to clean, but I can’t imagine it takes an hour and even if it does, say you’re going to close when you actually close. Don’t factor in your cleaning time after you stop selling games.
Place was clean, friendly staff, bowling lanes were maintained, and pin setting machines worked smoothly through 3 sets of games.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
absolutely unorganized and rude for failure on their part. said we had only paid for 5 bowlers when we clearly stated we had 6, then proceeded to kick us out a half an hour early even though we had said we would pay for the extra bowler. refused us and kicked us out without explanation. if you are trying to plan an evening here regardless if it’s a weekday or not do not come here. i recommend circle lanes because even though they’re not the best they’re better than this place
