Been going here for 20 years. The last 4 years have really gone down hill. Raising the prices is bad enough but they’ve also reduced the amount of food you get. What once was enough for 2 meals is now enough for 1 & cost $14. I’ve always ordered the same thing but today was the worst. There is absolutely no flavor in my chicken vermicelli. It’s like they just cooked the chicken then cooked the noodles & put it in the box. I thought it was bad enough that it was hit & miss depending on who the chef was, some times it was great other times it was covered in some kind of hard fish flakes that made it impossible to eat but this is sadly the last time we’ll order here. I was surprised this was the first time we’ve gotten so much chicken but then I realized there’s hardly any noodles. I could have spent the same amount for 2 people to have edible dinner, what a waste.
Hao Hoa has been around for quite some time. I was a teen the last time I ate here. I took my teenager and we loved the food! Great customer service. Easy ordering, thank you! Vegetarian options: Yummy veggie options. Kid-friendliness: Great menu for kiddos.
Made my first visit here in many years since moving away from Round Rock in 2009. I enjoyed it then and it is just as delicious today as I remember from back in the day. After all these years it's got staying power. Asian food restaurants are much like many Mexican restaurants I enjoy...there are a lot of good ones to choose from but only one or two that you keep going back to regularly. Hao Hao is in one of those categories for Asian food restaurants. It hits on all cylinders for menu variety both Chinese and Vietnamese, quality ingredients, fast preparation, friendly staff, delicious taste, competitive prices.
Pretty good but nothing over the top Vietnamese cuisine. I can appreciate the heat level. It was decent for doing online delivery dinner.
Came for dinner with my wife and inlaws. The food was great and ambiance was nice. The take out kept rolling out the door, so they are really in high demand. Wheelchair accessibility: First floor access
Omg everything we ordered was so good. My very picky kids cleaned their plates! I have no complaints…we will be back!
Our waiter was timely and attentive and I enjoyed the food more than I thought I would! We wanted the crab wontons originally and were brought the wonton soup by mistake. However, my man loved it so much he didn't send it back lol.. I'm usually a bit nervous about strip mall restaurants but this place impressed me. Everything came out so hot and we'll definitely be coming back.
I lived in the Houston area before moving to Round Rock area and they had a restaurant that sold awesome combination rice. I wanted to find a place out hear and I found it. The rice had chicken, beef and shrimp and came with 5 different level of spice. I went with level 3. Me and the family loved it so much that I came back the next day to get more. The staff were great and so kind.
I was out of town for a week and got back and was craving Chinese food. I had read some reviews on Hao Hao Vietnamese and decided to give them a try. I ordered curry with shrimp, sesame beef and something I hadn’t had in decades, egg foo young with chicken. We were very pleasantly surprised with both the quality and quantity of food. We ordered everything with rice and ere very pleased. The sesame beef was pretty much as expected. The curry rice was full of flavor and not too spicy. The egg foo young was really excellent and a very large portion. They gave two “omelette patties“ with chicken and a sauce that was nicely flavored. I had placed the order online, and despite being dinner time, the order was ready when I arrived. Next time, I’m going to invite friends to join us for dinner at the restaurant!
With all the years that I lived in the area, I never tried too hard to visit Hao Hao restaurant until the pandemic happened. When most of the businesses were trying to figure out a way to keep their costumers during lockdown, Hao Hao was one of the few places that made the food pickup process extremely smooth and efficient. Needless to say, I found myself placing orders frequently after that. I like their fried rice, especially the Basil Chicken fried rice. I always order it with 2x or 3x spicy level and my family also enjoy other dishes like Spicy Tofu and General Tso's chicken. Their foods are tasty and the portions are generous for the price. Even though the place is open for dine in, we are still doing online ordering for no particular reason. However, I am sure that would change in the future. Feb 2023 update: I tried Spicy Chicken and it had a very good flavor. Because some of the dishes that Hao-Hao offers does not follow the traditional name, I had to order and "document" it for next time. The dish contains shredded celery, onions, green onions, carrots, garlic and ginger, all stir fried in hot sauce. Very flavorful and highly recommended.
