Our go-to park in town and my favorite since childhood! Lots of paved and not paved trails, a creek bed that's dry 95% of the year and big grassy fields to run around in. All nestled in a hollow with huge, mature trees. A lovely little spot Playground: Two: little kids and big kids although my two year old prefers the big kids one! Restrooms: Real toilets and real toilet paper! Look out for spiders in the summer though! Dog-friendliness: Lots of trails to walk your pup on and a newer *free* fenced in dog park! Picnic area: Four shelters that can be rented out and picnic tables randomly placed around the grassy areas
Just a beautiful place to hike and very child friendly. Great playgrounds and several picnic areas. Beautiful ravines and lush woods lots of different types of trees and wildflowers. Dozens of squirrels and chipmunks at the end of the trail feasting on small acorns. Trails are not flat but not real steep either. Mostly an out and back trail with a few spur trails.
Nice little park close to Purdue campus with playground, restrooms, parking area and walking trail.
Happy hollow is an excellent park for walking, and it also has a nice playground and picnic area, as well as a dog park. The main trail is about 1.2 miles long, and it does go “there and back” it’s not a loop. Sometimes, parking can be a bit busy but if you drive back further into the park it should be accessible. I’m a plant person, so a lot of my photos feature flowers along the trail
Beautiful park in middle of city. Lot of walking trails. Love the dog park. Fall colors are amazing. Parking sometimes can be tricky near kids play area, but you can find near the dog park. Kids play area is huge.
It is clear that Leslie Knope was behind the making of this park This park is phenomenal. There is equipment for small kids and big kids. There are plenty of swings to play on. Lots of interesting slides and structures to play on as well. This is the best park I've ever been to. There are two picnic areas to enjoy, a bathroom, and a water fountain.
Best park in the area. It is perfect for family gatherings and it excellent for long walking.
A place for all ages and activity levels to enjoy. We sent the kids to the playground with grandma, the teen and his girlfriend took a nap in the grass field while his friends played football, and the dogs and I walked the trails. It was a great way to spend the day together- apart. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed everywhere.
Nicely kept, far from the road, and really nice for 5-12 year olds. My 3 year old loves it here but requires extra supervision. The restrooms were fairly clean and the dog park is nice as long as it isn't wet.
Nicest park in town easily. Nice to walk up the path and pretend you aren't in the flatlands. In the spring the flowers are pretty and the fall colors are really stunning.
