We are accepting applications on a rolling basis throughout the year for
children age 2 years, 9 months to 5 years old.
Full Day, 8:30–5:30 : $55 per day
AM Half Day, 8:30–Noon : $30 per day
PM Half Day, 2:00–5:30 : $30 per day
Minimum enrollment: 2 days per week
The mission of the Harbor City School is to be a quality early education
partner to families in East Boston and surrounding neighborhoods.
Partnering with children at HCS is achieved through the use of an emergent curriculum, by which teachers identify children’s interest to determine the areas of study. The lessons are strength based, age appropriate and fun and they effectively teach the children how to achieve good structure, verbal communication and collaboration with both peers and adults.
Partnering with parents at HCS is achieved through the working-family-friendly business model and the optional cooperative structure of the school. Schedules and fees are designed to make quality early education possible for working parents/guardians. Coop activities are strength based, where parents’ natural abilities are used in the classroom as well as in the administration and development of the school. Through their involvement, parents learn valuable teaching skills to use at home and also they learn how to help their school succeed.
