I don’t go hear often but it is always a pleasant trip when I do. Harbor Freight in Kannapolis is the nicest, most organized, Harbor Freight I have visited. Employees are always helpful and in a great mood as well. I went in to get a car jack and one of the employees helped me locate a coupon resulting in a significant savings. If you are looking for tools in the Concord Kannapolis area don’t forget to check out Harbor Freight.
Went to HF return a $2.00 item with proof of purchase on 7-17-2023. I had paid in cash for a jumbo ladder hook along with some other items on 7-5-2023. When I went to return the jumbo ladder hook, I gave the receipt and item to the sales associate who happened to be the manager. He asked for my phone number which I gave. He punched it in his computer and asked if I was the person name that came up on his screen, and it was, so I said "yes." Then he asked me for my ID driver's license so he could scan it. I politely told him that I do not give out such information because I am worried about various companies such as Harbor Freight getting hacked and losing my personal information. I asked for him to try to over-ride and he said he could not. So, he told me he could not make the transaction for the return without scanning my ID. I asked if there was any way around it. He said "NO." It is not worth giving out my personal information to make a $2 return. In this day and age this kind of information along with credit card information is lost to hackers every day. Reading the return policy on the back of the receipt, it indicates the manager to "has the right to refuse returns of any item, at any time, for any reason, regardless of receipt." This gives the manager a lot of power. Also, the policy states HF maintains a database of consumer activity and other information connected with the purchase or a return, which we use to authorize returns and may share with third parties that provide fraud prevention services. I understand that HF is trying to protect themselves from a return fraud. But come on, it was a $2 item. Since the manager could not give me my money back, I told him to keep it and left it there. It would have probably sat on my workbench till the day I died. Thanks HF for not working with me. What if this was a big-ticket item? I guess I would have to let them scan my DL. It will be a long time before I go back to HF. Rick
Micheal was super helpful when I asked for assistance today. I needed a few more items than what was available on the floor and I’ve never seen someone come out of the back of a store so quickly with a box full of additional inventory.
Staff was helpful, the synthetic rope I purchased to remove a bush, was not.

Pretty good sized store full of value priced tools. Some may call it China Freight. They are generous with coupons and freebees; you will never run out of flashlights. Sure you get what you pay for but sometimes thats all you need.
Great sales and plenty of tools and parts to fit any kind of project. Tools for projects in the yard, home, welding tools and accessories, concrete work accessories, mulching, mowing, building...on and on.
The first H Freight I've ever been in that was fully stocked with only one empty hanging peg and everything neat and organized, in the right spots and really freindly staff. If only my hf stores were like this one I would go back to buying alot more tools and stuff from them. The only problem with this one is I got my free tarp, and my 20% off but not my other coupon for the heat gun which should have been $8.99 not $12. , I guess I ruined what my thought of a the best experience was by coming back home to Pa to pull out my receipts and seeing the wrong prices on it.
One cashier checking people out, 8 or 9 of us in line, and 3 other employees hanging out around the checkout area shooting the breeze with one another. I left my items on the shelf and walked away; the lower prices aren't worth standing in line for 20 minutes watching that amount of nonsense.
Great store and staff. Manager needs to step in if both lines are 4-5 people deep. Instead of watching work and help out.
