Retail For Hope! All proceeds go to Transitional Housing of SWFL, recovery homes for men and women.
Under the care and admiration of Debbie Ficarelli and Tommy Koch, Harmony Thrift Store opened its doors in November 2011 with the goal of providing financial support for its SWFL Transitional Housing unit. Harmony Thrift Store and housing are both non-profiit, where all proceeds go directly to maintaining our recovery homes as well as opening new ones.
At Harmony, we strongly feel a safe and non-toxic environment is of VITAL importance for an EFFECTIVE recovery to take place. Over the years we have identified that an unsafe environment is the #1 reason that sober/recovery houses become toxic, mis-managed, and dis-reputable. Sadly, many feel as though "societal misfits" are the reason why transitional housing do not work; we are here to nullify this prediction and mend the lives of said "misfits".
In addition to providing the community with a clean, trendy and well-run second hand store, Harmony Thrift Store also doubles as a fair place of employment for the residents of Harmony Housing. Harmony has developed a unique housing approach, specifically for working men in recovery, that provides a seamless transition from treatment back into the work force. At Harmony, reinforcing an individuals feeling of self-worth via the spirit of employment is our #1 effort; after all, we are in the business of caring, sharing and growing.
At Harmony, we do not give hand-outs. As a supporter of our mission you can rest assured that the working spirit of America will prevail. Being able to reach needy individuals and offer a firm platform for them to stand firmly upon is what we pride ourselves on the most.
Harmony: "Where you can return to work, reclaim self worth, and gain restoration of the human spirit"
