Harold's Furniture is Lebanon Pennsylvania's Oldest and Largest Furniture Store. Founded in 1946 at 707 Cumberland Street by Harold Perlmutter after he returned from service in World War 2. Harold was successful from the start selling Appliances, household furnishings as well as pots, pans, and virtually everything needed to furnish a home. In 1959, Harold expanded the business into the adjacent building which had housed the Palace of Sweets Restaurant. In 1979, Stu Perlmuuter, Harold's son, joined the business. Stu graduated from Pennsylvania Military College in 1970 and subsequently served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant with the First Infantry Division. In 1979 Harold's moved down the street into what had been the Levitz Furniture Company Building at 614-620 Cumberland Street. After 25 years at that location, in 2005 Stu moved the store into their present location at 2500 West Cumberland Street in Lebanon. Harold's Furniture features the top Name Brands in the Furniture Business and looks forward to celebrating their 69th year in business in 2015!
