Amazing. We went for lunch and shared the 1 meat Rueben and the sausage peppers and onions with potatoes. Both were seasoned right, and service was terrific.
My husband has bigger-than-normal hands. So you get an idea of how big their foods are! Matzo ball soup is our must-order every time - for how huge it is, we usually have more than half packed to go. They also refills soup for you. We tried their pancake for the first time. 4 of us didn’t even kill 1/4 of the pancake. It was very fluffy, not dry at all. They gave a lot of butter and maple syrup. My husband’s favorite is their double decker sandwich. He often chooses pastrami and roasted beef for meats. The amount of cheese they melt on the sandwich is ridiculous in a good way. Their gave rye bread for the table. For the mountain of meat we got, we eventually packed most of the plate to go, and ate non-stop for the next 2 days. With tax and tips, we paid $45 per person. By the way, the service is great - they always keep an eye on you, and replace your plates without you asking them. Our waiter was so funny. He asked: so, what do we want for today, and for the rest of the week? We will go back for dinner sometime to try their BBQ beef ribs. Strongly recommend.
If you can't get into the city, this is the next the best thing. The pastrami is good. Portions are good. Everything is large. It's a Great place for a party or celebration since everything here is larger than life..
Great spot for big groups! We were 7 adults and 3 kids. We ordered the kids their own meals and although they are a bit pricey for a kids meal they were so big that they could easily have been shared! For us we ordered a matzah ball soup, large turkey sandwich and x-large corned beef sandwich, and with the pickle bar and coleslaw that came with the sandwiches, we had plenty of food for us to be stuffed and still have enough to take home and make 3 decent sized sandwiches the next day. We easily split the red velvet cake, it made 10 perfect slices. Great meal and great service, will be back!
We were three guys who ordered XL-size brisket beef and pastrami, the meat was so tender juicy and delicious. The servings are huge so you can definitely take your leftovers home.
Between 2 of us we got a small hot pastrami with mustard sandwich and brisket on rye sandwich au jus. Both sandwiches came with coleslaw. There was a picklebar in the restaurant. You can eat as many pickles as you want over there, but if you want to take the pickles to go, you will have to pay extra. For the sandwiches they give you extra bread, which is enough for another set of sandwich. The price was about $25 per sandwich, but they were big enough and in my opinion and experience, worh the money. We skipped the desert.
HUGE portions. Expect to split the meal with someone else because there's no way to eat all of the portion alone. Not the cheapest meal but definitely worth the money. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The pickle bar is definitely original. I don't like pickles but had some bread, muffins, sauerkraut, and other things I ate. Everything was delicious. I definitely recommend this deli restaurant to anyone in the area.
The pastrami, best ever. This rib appetizer? It’s for 5 people! And incredibly tender and juicy. Cannot wait to go back!!
$26 for a sandwich? I guess it is called Harolds New York Deli except its in Edison, NJ. Other than that the sandwich was pretty good. The pastrami on rye is the way to go. The pastrami was tender and the mustard make it all come together. I would understand the price if the sandwich was incredibly big portion but it wasn’t anything crazy. Not a huge pickle fan so passed on them. I wanted onion rings but apparently they only serve them in massive portions for $23. Not sure why because I am sure they are losing business on doing that since I decided against ordering bc it was too big. Harold’s serves a good sandwich but it will cost you NY prices. Stuck between 3.5 and 4 star… will give benefit of the doubt this time!
This place is absolutely amazing, the portions are insane, service is fabulous, and the food is so delicious! I would recommend this place to everyone!
