The Harris Funeral Home has always served our family very well with professionalism and compassion. My mother’s funeral was held at the end of May, 2023, with the utmost warm-heartedness. They handled everything so efficiently even going beyond what a funeral home normally does. Appreciation to Bill Harris and his wonderful staff.
I wanted to write this post sooner…but it is still difficult. Words cannot even express: Bill, Vicky and Dan were the most compassionate and caring individuals we have ever worked with. Giving 5 stars does not even do this justice. I would give 10 stars if I could. The professionalism, support, kindness, given from all of these individuals is beyond words. Loss is the most difficult part of life and Harris Funeral Home was beyond amazing.
The staff at Harris Funeral Home was amazing to work with through the entire burial process. My family cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and kindness.
From the planning to the final goodbye we were treated like family. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Vicki event went as far as steaming my little grandson’s suit, that was accidentally left behind at the funeral home after the viewing, so it was ready for him to wear the morning of the funeral. She also stayed in contact with me while tending to the small details. Mr. Harris did a wonderful job in making my mother look like her beautiful self, by masterfully disguising visible injuries. The chapel is spacious and has a very calming feel. We were able to display photos, mementos and still have plenty of room for flowers. The downstairs lounge was the perfect place to take a break or share in the food brought in by family and friends. Our family was very pleased with our experience and would highly recommend Mr. Harris and his amazing staff.
Bill Harris and his team did an outstanding job in helping us through every detail of our father’s funeral arrangements. Bill offered us his expertise in a professional and personal manner. The facility is beautiful and created a wonderful environment for our family’s final good-byes. We are grateful for all the attention to detail and the ease in making the arrangements.
Bill Harris and his team provided exemplary service to my family last week after my father died on Wednesday, September 29. Beginning with transporting his body from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center through the funeral Mass at St. Benedict Catholic Church, every detail was handled with the utmost compassion and professionalism. The police honor guard afforded my dad by the Richland Township Police Department and members of the Fraternal Order of Police, added an additional wrinkle to an already complex event. Nevertheless, Bill's team ensured a seamless transition every step of the way. Thank you all.
When my Mother passed, we met with Bill Harris and discussed all the various details that need to be decided on. Bill went thru a checklist and make it all easy. No question went unanswered. The 6 hour viewing was made easier because of the people who work for Bill and Debbie Harris. The lounge was made available for rest breaks and water was passed around at intervals. The service was excellent and flawless! On the day of the funeral things were handled with ease and respect for my Mother and our family. The graveside service was impeccable! When the time comes and you need the service of a funeral home I can highly recommend Harris Funeral Home for the best service, respect and dignity for your family and loved one!
Over the course of a year and a half, I was involved in planning 3 separate family funerals – my uncle, my grandmother, and my great aunt. Mr. Harris Bill and his staff could not have been more professional, compassionate, or respectful of our family during our period of grief. Bill and his staff made everything run as smoothly as possible, patiently explaining all of the steps for the funeral and interment, walking the family through the major decision points, and outlining other things needed after someone passes that we wouldn’t have thought of otherwise – like getting extra copies of the death certificates for life insurance, legal, and financial paperwork. For my grandmother’s funeral, he helped coordinate a car service, which took a large amount of stress off of the family on an otherwise devastating day. Bill also offered a projector for us to share a photo slideshow I created, and they added music appropriate for the day. For my great aunt’s funeral, the florist dropped the ball and delivered the arrangements to the wrong funeral home, but Bill and his staff did all of the calling and coordinating for us to ensure that new flowers arrived prior to the start of the visitation. It seemed like the whole staff tried to make things as easy as possible on the grieving family, which is appreciated in such a difficult time. The facility also offers a private area for the immediate family, which we needed when it became too emotional for us to speak with visiting guests. Finally, I feel that credit needs to be given to the preparation and dedication given to our dearly departed; Bill was able to present them in a way that honored our memories of each of them. Bill paid attention to small details and made sure personal affects for the viewing were returned to the family. As much as I’d like to never have to plan a funeral again, I know that if/when I do, Bill and his team will be there to offer comfort and support as they always do.
I always check the obituaries on The Harris Funeral Home Website. I was surprised to see the new design! The site is so easy to navigate & looks great! The Harris Family and their staff are true professionals in bringing comfort to the families they serve!
