The food was great and the ambience was perfect. Our servers were on top of everything we needed. The seats were really comfy and well suited to the decor. The steak was perfectly medium rare. Meat was a little tough in places but the char was so perfect I almost didn’t care. I didn’t love the sides too much, but I didn’t hate them either. Exception was the mushroom soup which was perfect in every way except the portion size. If this wasn’t so far from the Bay Area I’d definitely make this a regular stop.
We came here on a 2pm driving down from the Bay Area to LA. Typically we stop by In n Out but wanted to try something different this time. When I entered the building, the place was decorated with Christmas vibes and the place was bustling with people. Even though it was busy, the wait for the restaurant lounge was only 5 minutes. Since we had our dog, there wasn’t an outside place so we decided to do carry out and eat in the parking lot which had lots of space. After ordering, they said the wait time would be 20 minutes but it was more like 35-minutes. The food: Whiskey smoked salt and brown sugar rubbed rib eye - this was DELICIOUS. It was sweet, savory, salty, fatty, and charred. I’d get this again but it was actually almost too fatty. Fried green beans - delicious and crispy. The sauce was yummy too. Overall, I’d stop by here again if I was truly hungry and felt like spending the money. I think the meal was too expensive for what it was and the wait time took longer than expected.
This was my first time at Harris Ranch in many years, and everything impressed: The rooms are CLEAN. Not crunchy, too-much bleach clean...actually properly clean and comfortable. The honor bar is lightly stocked, but you're not here to stay in the room and eat cashews. The in-room coffee is good, whatever they chose for a Harris-branded blend was on the dark side of medium and better than most of the k-cups you'll find at the grocery store. The pool is beautiful at night and the pool bar is a great spot to grab a nightcap without fighting the crowd at the main restaurant. But if you want food you will need to brave the busier space...the pool bar is drinks only! The food is as good as any place I've been, and the steaks are legendary for a reason. The menu is straightforward and the waiters know their kitchen, so there's a chance they'll steer you to something excellent if you ask. This is a great venue for large gatherings, and the cost is lower than anything comparable within a day's drive. Rooms: Clean, comfortable, and stocked with the basics. Maybe the most at-home I've ever felt in a hotel. Walkability: Great. Everything is walkable, but they have golf carts and drivers for folks with mobility issues. Food & drinks: World-class. Best steaks in California.
It seems to be popular among locals. And it is indeed good. Service is good, food is good and fast. Local police officers come here often. A small and cozy place and people seem to be from around here. There is also Tesla charging stations available. Food is not too cheap here. Steak can go up to nearly $50, but I believe it is good.
I love the gift shop here! They had cute Christmas trinkets in the gift shop, and I enjoyed spending time with family here. There is a great family like ambience here. I love the friendly waitresses, and how fast the service is! They make tasty food, so it's definitely worth waiting for your reservation, and paying the pricey selections.
We absolutely loved the prime rib, service was fast and friendly, even on a holiday weekend. Maria and her staff were great! Perfect spot for dinner if you are traveling on the 5fwy down the California Central Valley. From the water to our main dish it was absolutely delicious. We are definitely coming back. The only negative was an rude old man when he was giving me the rules and conditions on my service dog. He could’ve been more compassionate.
The restaurant was awesome! Great decor, clean, the servers were polite and efficient, and the food was great. I had the prime rib dip and it was delicious, tender meat and perfectly seasoned au jus. The sweet potato fries were done just right, not soggy like other places. I also appreciate that the owners allow overnight RV parking in the lot. So much better than a noisy rest area or a truck stop with semis running their engines all night. I was a bit dismayed by the big sign that said ‘RV park coming soon’ as it will take away another no cost option for RVers. I understand the business is here to make money but maybe when they build the RV park they would consider including a dirt lot where overnighters could dry camp for $10 or so. Hardly any RV parks have this and it would really help those of us who just need a spot to stop for a few hours and sleep.
Stopping for a meal at Harris Ranch is always a pleasure. We hadn’t visited for a few years and were happy to see that the place has been well maintained and we saw some upgrades! Larry our server was pleasant and upbeat with great food suggestions. Picked up some steaks and they pack them in ice for the drive home!! Let’s not forget that there are 18 Tesla superchargers in the parking lot which adds to the benefits of stopping at Harris Ranch. Can’t wait to come back
The hotel is a standard place with nice rooms & good service. The dinner we had at the restaurant was a surprising mediocre 2 stars at best. Everything was served cool or actually cold including the soup. The large prime rib was cold & tough. The veggies were fresh, tasty & cold. This was the least edible meal I’ve had there in 20+ years. We’ll try it again on our trip home next week with the hope that the last meal was an aberration.
Wow!!! Breakfast was amazing!! You absolutely can taste how fresh the food was. I ordered a classic “Ranch Hand Breakfast” with sausage, cottage cheese and tomato slices with coffee and my wife got the breakfast burrito with bacon. The service was prompt and friendly. Waitress checked right away after a few bites to ensure satisfaction. I was going by take a photo but I inhaled it. Great pull over that was unplanned!
