Emergency room visit. Been here 2.5 hours and have watched atleast 20 people be seen before me. Still here waiting. Clearing they have staffing issues as well as ability to have people seen in a timely manner. Had to ask receptionist if they forgot about me. Assured me they haven't. Yet still checking in others that are just arriving.
My sister gave birth here yesterday 07/12/23, we arrived around 7pm. The front desk staff at that time was very rude. Asking our entire family to move to the other side of the waiting room because the children were playing. Then when we were heading in to the birthing room they told us only 18 and up can go inside the room due to covid. That didn't make any sense to me nor did they bother to explain. The nurses were amazing and considerate. When we were leaving once again we had another unpleasant interaction with the front desk staff. Idk if they were just having a bad day but you should not be in a customer facing job if you can't give common courtesy and respect or at least bother to explain why certain policies are in place. They made such a wonderful occasion pretty bitter. I hope the management sees this review and addresses these issues.
My mom had a wonderful experience at the ED a couple weeks ago. From check in to discharge the process was seamless. They promptly took her to a room in the back within about 5 min upon arrival. The doctor was in the room no more than 5 min after getting her connected to the monitor. I was incredibly impressed with the care she received and feel confident that if she ever needed to utilize this ED in the future, she will be in good hands. It was clean, organized, and efficient. Thank you to everyone who works here, the community relies heavily on all of you, and the pressure to maintain the needs of the community can become overwhelming and exhausting. You guys are doing a wonderful job to ensure quality care is provided to the people of Kitsap County.
If I could I’d rate it one star. Er nurse Wendy was incredibly rude. She told me exactly “I don’t want to do that for you because it is out of my pay grade” and the whole time SHE was complaining! The doctor that eventually saw me in the hallway gaslight me the whole time. She also gave me referrals for MILITARY ONLY DOCTORS, IM NOT MILITARY AND TOLD HER THAT! They didn’t even do anything to help me didn’t run any test or nothing! I’m not sick but I’m having difficulty swallowing anything I haven’t ate in longer than 24 hours and they seemed not to care at all. They need to fire and hire better staff there. If I
The preop and recovery team were both very competent and reassuring. I stayed overnight and had terrible care. Freezing cold temperatures. They raised the temperature and it got warm for a short time and then the air-conditioning would kick in again and they couldn’t control it. Nursing staff were kind and cared and did ok with pain meds and IV. I was supposed to have ice every two hours on my surgical site and never had an ice pack. I was told not to bring my CPAP machine and it took seven hours to get one to my room from the respiratory department. Food was absolutely inedible and the administration knows it is but it doesn’t change. How do they expect one to heal when the nutrition is in edible. Not just poor but inedible.
I was really scared when my doctor told me to go Friday, 7/21/23, about 3:30 pm. There were people checking in, one after the other, they were so busy. The staff had 3 times the patients they could handle at that time, it appeared to me. Every single staff member did an AMAZING JOB during the four hours I was there. Thank you, Emergency Room Staff for your care and consideration. I’m so grateful to you all. Deborah Cates
There is never anyone working in the cafeteria so all you have is sandwiches or whatever is available in the freezer section. It's the worst hospital cafeteria I've seen. The maps/signs state there is a gift shop but when I asked the front desk they told me it was removed 4 months ago. The only good thing about this place is the nurse Pam in the ICU is very respectful, very helpful and all in all a very sweet caring woman.
I took my husband in due to post op complications, and we had the honor of working with Dr Wesley A White. He was thorough , he explained the issue , drew images , pull up the actual CT scan and googled images for comparison. We walked away educated, and he treated what appeared to be ammonia starting with antibiotics. He listened to my husband understood his concerns talk through them reasoned with him gave scenarios and made us comfortable , which is more then what the surgical team at St Joseph did. We are forever grateful. If you're looking for someone to listen to you and treat you with care and respect visit St Micheal's ER and ask for Dr Wesley. Thank you 10x over Dr Wesley & Teffanie
Figure your billing dept out. My son had a simple ER visit 6 months ago yet we're still being billed over $400. We've talked to the billing dept 4 times and our insurance ad well. Someone input his information incorrectly and now we're being billed since it can't process with our insurance. Not our problem. And yet we have a patient reference number and no one can seem to pull up his visit. What's the point of that? I'm glad we aren't in the area anymore because I wouldn't go to you all if I had the choice.
A zero if I had that choice! What a nightmare! Ignored my Oncologist orders from Fred Hutchinson when I was in ER! I have spine cancer and have meds to take every 4 hours since 2017. I fell and fractured my femur. They ere so afraid to give me pain meds. I didn’t want them. I wanted to follow my schedule!! Got there around 5:30pm. Peed bed 3 times, no pain relief. 1:30 am I asked if I was being admitted. NO, I CANT ADMIT YOU FOR THAT!! Me/ then why am I here??? My husband had been up since 3am for work!! Got out of there asap. Follow up doc was a jerk. Even I know X-rays don’t show tears Kept telling Dr Hadi I tore my hip and couldn’t get past an X-ray. Office: you didn’t give him a chance! We back, had phone call with associate said my pain was from swelling ! I had no more swelling. Finally went to my Seattle ortho. 2 new tears in right hip, like I said and a new different fracture in femur!!! I would rather die trying to get to UW, Swedish, Tacoma general or St joes! I HAVE PTSD NOW BECAUSE OF THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Cancer 15 yrs, type1 diabetes, Never been treated so poorly in all my life!!! You need to follow order from my doctors who know me! Since 2008z Not your 5 minutes
