I had a very good first experience with this place. I came in looking for an issue of the walking dead, but it seemed like they were sold out. so i asked a woman who i assume is the owner and she was very kind about it and helped me out and got out the issue i was looking for from some sort of backup storage thingy. They have a wide collection of comics and great customer service and i would definitely come again!
Excellent shop. They will set up a list for you for all the comics you want to collect and all you have to do is come in, pay, and pick them up every couple weeks. They also have games, and events in the shop, and old collectible toys. They support the local Scouts, and have some good deals for the kids, too. I love their yearly Free Comic Book Day event, which I've gone to with my son 2 of the last 3 years.
Was COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF!!! I took over 150 vintage comics including an AMAZING FANTASY 15 and received only $1400. I am not an expert on comics so I thought I was going to an ethical dealer...not so! The AF15 was low grade but still worth $3-4000 all day long, not to mention many other nice comics. She was VERY high pressure and would not let me leave without selling. Only found out later how bad I was taken. This dealer should be run out of the business. I deal some in coins. It's like me paying someone a few hundred dollars for a VF 1889 Carson City Morgan Dollar and then getting caught and telling every lie in the book to justify. If you're looking to sell, STAY AWAY - SCAM ARTIST! Just find someone to eBay your items. This dealer should be ashamed!
Nice little place in convenient location. Good place to pick up a few vintage or recent baseball cards old school comics or new school as well. They even have some collectable toys/action figures. Staff has been courteous and helpful everytime I've been in. I only wish they had a larger selection of vintage Marvel and DC comics. Seems like places like this are getting fewer and farther between.
I have seen a few negative reviews about this place and wanted to take time to say my experience has been very good. The owner knew most customers by name and treated everyone that was shopping as a peer . While I cannot comment on other's personal experiences with the owner , I can say that the comment about this store being gross and unorganized is complete BS. I shop at all of the comic stores in the QC and this one is by far one of the more organized and cleaner stores of the bunch. I can also say from my experience as someone who does a fair amount of buying and selling of retro items on ebay that the items I were looking to buy were reasonably priced. Not to mention this store actually releases retail books to the public that are going to sell fast rather than hording them and sticking them on Ebay.
The lady that owns this place treated me like I was a moron and acted like she did not have the time to help someone who does not "no all" when it comes to comics. Every question I asked seemed to make her mad like I was wasting her time. She is lucky there are not vary many comic book shops in the area or she would go out of business. She reminded me of the comic book guy from the Simpsons. The store is dirty and everything is way over priced. Save your time and money and do not go to this so called comic book shop.
Went there yesterday and dealt with two guys who really knew how to make a sale, spent time teaching me the ropes of a new game and dedicated nearly an hour and a half total to help me find exactly the new games we wanted to try. Friendly, clean and knowledgeable. As to the other reviews on here about the owner I have yet to meet her but I will be returning soon and will update my review accordingly.
They are very passionate about their collectables. They are my go to for comics and graphic novels. The store itself has a really comfy vibe, you can be as nerdy as you want and no one judges you. Personally, when I walk in, it feels like home.
Never again! Have tried to support my LCS and it’s just not worth it. Shop is dirty and owner smokes in the office constantly. Spent over $1k first three or four visits as an avid collector, and the owner constantly talked down to you. As if I know nothing or am an inconvenience. After talking to other collectors in the area the I’m not alone in this belief. If you make the mistake of having her look at books you are selling plan on her talking them down like they are trash and trying to only buy the best of the lot for nothing that’s her mo. She has also taken advantage of sooo many people with no comic knowledge in the area it’s disgusting. Shops like this are why everyone prefers online shopping!
In 25+ years of collecting, I've never dealt with a business owner even remotely as rude. Perhaps she's going for "arrogant comic book queen"... but that doesn't translate well to a guy that drops hundreds of dollars without a second thought on his collection, and could give a s**t less how awesome she believes she is. In the future, I'd suggest that she refrain from talking down to ANYBODY that she's lucky enough to have walk into her mess of a store. It's dirty, smells like a wet basement, un-organized, over priced, and has the atmosphere of a thrift store. I give the place a year... though I won't personally be helping her pay the bills ever again.
