The correlation between poverty and poor health is well‐established. Robert Evans of the University of British Columbia has pointed out that studies done more than a century ago showed a correlation between socioeconomic status (SES) and mortality. This is still true today-poverty is deeply linked to how long a person lives, and how healthy a person is.
The mission of HAWC is to provide quality, affordable, comprehensive primary health care services to those in need.
