Hayden Proffitt II Driver BIO
Hayden Proffitt II is the grandson of legendary hall of fame drag racer Hayden Proffitt, who was a 4 time national champion in NHRA and a 2 time national champion in AHRA. Also his uncle, Brad Proffitt, son of Hayden Proffitt, piloted the USA rocket 1 dragster, that’s right a rocket powered dragster which ran off of hydrogen peroxide. The USA rocket 1 dragster actually held the ¼ mile E.T and speed record at 4.355 seconds and 349.77MPH in 1978 and what’s more awe inspiring is the fact that the car was only running at 70% power. So you can see that the need to go fast is clearly in his genes.
Hayden Proffitt II was born in Anaheim, CA on September 18, 1987. At an early age Hayden II always had the itch to go fast and the interest in anything that had an engine attached to it. Whether it be his first dirt bike at age 3, or his first performance taste of his own tuning his motorized scooter to over 47 MPH at age 9. He then moved on to bigger things later in life tinkering with diesel trucks. Hayden II, being an average gearhead had started with just tuning his 06’ Chevrolet duramax with the help of his friends, but of course just tuning wasn’t enough. He then completely went through the transmission, tweaked the fuel and added twin turbo’s to his truck which was making an estimated 650 rear wheel horsepower and nearly 1200 ft lbs of torque. How’s that for a daily driven work horse of a pickup?
At age 14 Hayden II moved to the rural small town of Tow, TX where his grandfather Hayden Proffitt resides. He graduated high school in 2005 from Llano High School where he was a dual sport academic all state athlete in both football and baseball. In early 2005 Hayden II had already enlisted into the Air Force despite having multiple college offers. Hayden II spent 9 years on active duty in the Air Force as an aerospace aircraft maintenance craftsman on both F-15’s and the B-2 stealth bomber. Hayden II was stationed at assignments such as Seymour Johnson AFB, NC, Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan and Whiteman AFB, MO. Hayden II also served multiple tours in the Middle East to include Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern countries racking up multiple awards and decorations for his unparalleled work ethic and dedication.
After 9 years on active duty, Hayden II decided it was time for a change as he always wanted to pursue his dream of driving a race car. Of course when you think of a racecar, you probably aren’t thinking of a 25,000hp twin jet engine 57’ Chevy pickup capable of reaching speeds well over 350MPH. So you can see why this truck is the world’s fastest 57’ Chevy pickup and arguably maybe even the world’s fastest pickup. Hayden would like to say thank you to all of the military men and women currently serving here at home, abroad and our past and present veterans, because of all that they have sacrificed I get to do my dream job and it wouldn’t be achievable without your dedication to our great country. We are proud to say this is a veteran owned and operated jet vehicle.
