My experience with Hays funeral home could not have been better. Jeff and Rachel were very attentive to my wishes and needs. The funeral home has been completely refurbished and is now a lovely and peaceful place. I actually was not happy that my friend who passed away had chosen this funeral home back in the 1960's because I had been to calling hours over the years before Jeff took ownership and the atmosphere was not uplifting in any way. When I arrived to meet Jeff and finalize plans I was greeted with new wallpaper and carpet, new chairs and a greater open space which is light and cheerful. There is even a new sound system allowing the music you choose to be heard as it was meant to be. Jeff worked with me to make the plans work from the old plans. The company that my friend used to plan her funeral had gone out of business but with great kindness and understanding Jeff made things work despite the financial increases from all the years. Finally, my friend never wore makeup and I was dreading this part of the funeral home services. Jeff and Rachel could not have done a better job. I was, and remain so pleased with what they did. By the way, many present for the services commented on how smoothly everything went and how nice the atmosphere is at Hays Funeral Home. If you are looking for the type of care and understanding I experienced with Jeff and Rachel then I strongly suggest Hayes Funeral Home.
Words cannot express our gratitude for Hays Funeral Home. After losing my husband rather suddenly, Jeff helped guide my family and me through the process with the utmost compassion and kindness. Jeff and his team made everything so much easier for us and truly honored my husband and his legacy. They were extremely responsive to our needs and helped to steer us through such a difficult time. As the daughter of Gerard Bourque who recently passed away, I wanted to share that Jeff Koopman and staff of Hays funeral home did such an amazing job keeping me, my mom, and my siblings in the loop on what was to be done and what he needed from us to make Dad’s service the best it could be. Because I live in California, I felt so distraught not being there physically for preparation. However, Jeff was available to answer my questions via phone to help me feel part of every aspect of honoring my dad. He even shared that my dad had given him a container a small flags that he had folded to give to children of veterans who have passed. I feel grateful for how well everything went to honor my father.
My dear mother passed several weeks ago. At an incredibly difficult time, Jeff and the rest of the staff at Hay’s helped us through it with incredible caring and respect. They came to my father’s home the evening she passed after hospice care and treated her and my father as though they were family. Their demeanor and presence was very comforting. They helped my father to arrange her funeral and burial so that it was exactly what my mother would have wanted. Jeff worked so hard to accommodate us with every detail. My mother looked beautiful for the wake, and her memorial service that was held at the funeral home was more than we could have asked for. The internment was held on an extremely hot day, but Jeff was very patient as a family member had difficulty getting there on time and we needed some extra time. I feel blessed that we chose Hay’s funeral home. My mother was treated with loving care and dignity. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The service today for brother in law Frank Curtis couldn't have been any better. It was one of the better creamation service's that we have been too. Staff helpful and attentive

Jeff is, in a word, AMAZING! We lost our dad after a short illness. His passing was not unexpected, but still terribly sad. I received a call from the nursing home just before 6am that he'd passed. The next call I received was from jeff at 7:30 telling me dad was at the funeral home already. When we met with jeff later that day, he could not have been more kind and compassionate. He went WAY above and beyond to give dad a beautiful service with military honors. We did absolutely nothing...Jeff made it all happen. The funeral home itself is beautiful and peaceful. The professionalism displayed by everyone involved was amazing. Our dad had the respectful and very personal service he so greatly deserved. Thank you Jeff and everyone at Hays for this final gift for dad. We are forever indebted to you for all you did for us. Do yourself a favor and stop looking. I can't thank Jeff and Rachel enough for their kindness, compassion, and professionalism while planning my dad's services. Jeff really took the time to listen to us and get to know the type of person my dad was, and plan beautiful services with that in mind. They explained all of our options, listened to our wishes and offered their advice while respectfully staying inside of our budget. The services went extremely smoothly, due to their planning and expertise. They made an extremely difficult and overwhelming time much more bearable, and were there to answer any questions we had along the way.
