First timer, was running errands in the area and found them on Yelp with multiple 5 stars reviews. Called and they said come on in. It was a late afternoon. Sat in a chair immediately and Marcus went to town. He took his time and did his magic. Good conversation during the cut. Professional, friendly, and just nice guys. Great experience. I highly recommend you stop in for a trim. Will post a pic later.
Been coming here for over a year and always had a great experience. Jerry treats all his customers with respect. Highly recommend anyone to stop by for a cut.Service: Haircut
The space itself is pleasant and well spaced, like a place where you could sit and enjoy a beer on classic furniture. Jerry is a detailed pro with a better eye for how hair will fall than most at the pricier salons. It's a neighborhood gem and although it is generally out of my way I will aim to make this a regular visit.
Waited for a little over an hour before I left, the dude in the front seemed cool but I didn’t like hearing the girl talk about how she is “too busy”. It that was an attempt to drive off business, it work. I wish I was able to get a hair cut here to find out if they were good or not, but they are too busy for walk-ins and the dude in the front was the only one taking care of it. I won’t be making a second attempt to getting my hair cut here. Good luck to you all.
My son and I were first time customers. Even though we were the very last customers I did not feel rushed. Also, for the first time in a long time my wife did not immediately start critiquing our haircuts. She loved it and so do we. She said "cleanest fade we ever had". Thank you to the 2 gentleman working Monday night. We will definitely be returning.
So far I really enjoy the service here came one time and I loved the hair cut. I came back today and waited for the guy who cut my son's hair cut last time since I stuck around for awhile I notice how they run their business here. I think they do a very good job. It gets busy but it's worth the wait. Very content with this place.
Weird experience today. As a side note, the barbers here have never been outgoingly friendly whenever I've walked in here. Got to the shop right before they opened at 9:50. Walked in the door and noticed they were still setting up so I went next door to the cigar shop to visit my bud Tony and pick up a few cigars. Go back into Headlines and sit around until 10:10 when the guys are ready to start cutting. The white guy with the awesome beard said he had an appointment and wasn't just ignoring us. The other gentleman working called whoever was first up to the chair, which was me. It was the same guy that has trimmed my beard for me multiple times and since my normal hair guy takes 3 months to get into Frank at J Anthony, highly recommend I decided to come here since they've always done a great job on my beard. I sat down in the chair and said "today can we do a full scissor cut as well as a beard trim" to which I was responded to with "you want me to do scissors on the side too? That won't look good." I responded "I've always done full scissors" to which he said "I've cut your hair multiple times and have never done full scissors." I let him know that he's never cut my hair and has always done my beard. He insisted that he has cut my hair multiple times. I responded with "no, I have a guy in uptown that cuts my hair. I always come to you for my beard." Apparently that bothered him and he told me "go to the guy in uptown then, I'm not going to service you. Plus, I didn't like your attitude this morning." I asked him what was wrong with my attitude to which he responded with "I'm not going to service you, I have a right not to service you." Still confused about what was wrong with my attitude, because he wouldn't answer me, I got up and left. I've had my hair cut on 3 different continents, in a total of 4 different countries and 5 cities since January alone. Never once have I've had a problem with getting a full scissor cut, or scissors over comb cut. I'm guessing it was a lack of knowledge or talent as well as simply having incredibly poor customer service skills that led to this interaction. If the barber simply said it was out of his skill range I would have told him to go a head with my beard and I'll go elsewhere for my hair. I ended up at Tradition Barber and when I asked if they could do full scissors they said "without a problem." After recounting my experience to Angie she was also surprised that they couldn't do a full scissor cut. I told my dad the story, because I knew he went to Headlines. But after I told him, he said he also switched to Tradition. Better haircuts, better service, all at a lower price.
Best barbershop in town. You can only have 2 of the three: lines, price, or quality. This place got price and quality so you will be waiting for 2 hours on the weekends if you dont book an appointment. The shop have 4 to 5 chairs on the weekends, but the wait is definitely still long. There is a donut shop next door if you want to grab some food while you wait. Service is good overall and there are 4 tvs to keep you distracted while you wait along with a stack of magazines.
I got a cut here twice. The first time was with a gentleman I believe his name is Jose. He did a great job. The second time was with a woman. I can't recall her name but I think she is the only woman Barber there. She demolished my hair. It has been about a month and I still don't feel comfortable going out without a hat. I won't go back.
