Please don’t leave your family member here. They treated my Mom badly. She went there for broken hip rehabilitation. She left with bruised ribs and legs. She was over medicated and fell. The Charge Nurse admitted it. They promptly kicked her out telling the insurance she was rehabilitated enough to go home. That was not the case. She was heavily medicated her entire stay. She left with a UTI because no one could be bothered to take her to the restroom. She ended up in the hospital for 4 days. This is only a very brief description of the things that went on. The food is terrible she lost weight there as well. her toilet was plugged every time she used it on the few times they took her to the restroom. It was left plugged for three days. It was not cleaned after I requested it be fixed for two more days after maintenance worked on it . Unacceptable conditions and poor quality of life. The Director need to pay better attention to the whole operation.
This is my second time here at AJHC and it is consistent, and to my experience, uniformly good. I've worked with CNA's, PTO/OT, and other non-medical and medical staff. They've been kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. I know I'm not the only one with needs here, but a little patience on my part, humor, and persistence makes it easier on everyone. OK, the food isn't great. I had family bring in some lithe things to nibble on. They work with me on what will work the best for me. There are always options. There are always some good parts. Yes, it's an older building. I wasn't expecting the Ritz. It's clean, and they are very careful in emptying the trash immediately. There's no "stink". The staff are great. The main reason I'm here is for antibiotics and to strengthen my legs/ balance. Everyone makes sure I'm working towards my goals.
This is a 1 star joke. If drugged up and asleep there is no physical therapy. Nurse Sharon was rude, verbally hostile, and uncaring for possible bladder infection. Miserable weekend care for elderly who was placed there after hip fracture surgery. Visit your loved one daily as an advocate, otherwise they let patient sleep the day away.
The only nice spot in this place is the entrance. This place is very old and run down. the smell is horrible almost unbearable. They need to invest in some good air purifiers and perhaps some bleach. Not to mention the nursing staff, at least in our case seems to be notorious for leaving my father, who broke his back in his wheel chair for hours at a time. Unacceptable!
I just want to share our experience here at Apache Junction rehab. They are the kindest people I've ever met, everyone is so attentive and sweet. There's a young gentleman named John who went above and beyond helping my father when he first got here. We also love their therapy department. Even my sister and brother-in-law, who are from out-of-state and visited dad last week, were also happy with the care that this place has been giving to our dad. I will definitely recommend this place to others needing skilled nursing care.
My father, a rehab patient, was there for a couple of days before he was sent back to the hospital due to an infection. I commend them for recognizing he needed that type of care. However, I wouldn’t recommend this facility for the following reasons. - The food is awful. Patients who need to get their strength back need to eat. The food there is not edible. - When they transferred my dad back to the hospital and cleaned his room for the next patient, they lost all my dad’s personal effects. 3 days worth of all clothes, hearing aid charger and a $150.00 pair of orthopedic shoes. I called to ask where the items were, was told to leave a message and no one called me back. I went to the center in person to ask about the items, told them the exact last location of said items and just received blank stares like I had two heads. - Physical appearance of the facility is questionable and there are too many “hoops” to jump through to visit patients. Keeping in mind this is AZ in the summer and it’s 108 degrees during the day: Visitors must park, walk in the sun to the front lobby, get screened, get permissions and directions, walk back in the sun to the car, then drive around the back of the building, park and get out of the car again, ring a bell, wait to be let in and sign in again. The back parking lot looks like a junk yard with several old bed frames littering the parking spaces and an old plastic dresser sitting outside an entryway. Doesn’t instill any confidence in care received.
Wow this place is trashy. I have several years experience in healthcare and customer service and this place has neither. I also personally know residence in there and they say some disturbing things as to the care and attention they get. Stay clear and don’t take loved ones here. Place needs inspected ASAP
If I could give zero stars I would. My sister calls me every day telling me the horror stories from that place. She has a fracture in her back and the Chandler Hospital sent her there for therapy. She only received 1.5 hours of therapy the whole week. They left her sitting on the toilet 45 minutes. They are slow at answering call light’s. Rosie is the employee who left her on the toilet for 45 minutes. They gave her a scolding hot shower. Didn’t even rinse all the shampoo out of her hair. They put her in a room the A/C wasn’t working, then moved her to another room the a/c wasn’t working properly, had to call maintenance to come and service it.
I was in your facility for a few days for physical therapy recently. My room was large, clean, my bed was comfortable and the food was ok. However my pleasant stay was due to your amazing staff. Every person that served me was pleasant, helpful, kind and cheerful.
Very old and needs to be updated. Staff are rude and disrespectful. Would not recommend this facility. Have to call and schedule an appointment. Only allowed 30 minutes to visit. Sometimes they bring you back after your scheduled time so your visit is shorter than 30 minutes. Make you wear a mask and gown. Visiting room is hot and makes you sweat under the gown. Came to visit my mother and she wasn't acting right. Told staff that something was wrong. They didn't listen and I ended up calling 911 myself. Had my mom transported to hospital. She had an infection and needed antibiotics. Had I not called she would have gotten worse. Updated 08/3/2022- Called to talk to my mother and staff member answered after several rings. He said he did not know how to transfer me to unit B phone. Asked if I would call back later.
