The Health Professions Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides scholarships and loan repayment to students and health professionals.
HPEF is housed under the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD).The Foundation’s track record of delivering health professionals to medically underserved areas has resulted in approximately 12,882 awards totaling more than $146.7 million to California health professionals serving in all of California’s 58 counties.

Repeated violations of the CalHealth Workforce comment policy may cause the author to be blocked from the CalHealth Workforce Facebook page.
CalHealth Workforce understands that social media is a 24/7 medium; however, moderation capabilities are not. CalHealth Workforce may not see every inappropriate comment right away, and are trusting in the maturity of the community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech or respond politely.
The Health Professions Education Foundation (HPEF) improves access to healthcare in underserved areas of California by providing scholarship and loan repayment programs to health professional students and graduates who are dedicated to providing direct patient care in those areas. In return for this support, recipients agree to provide direct patient care in a medically underserved area (MUA) of California for a period of one to three years.
