Checked in online at 3:45, for a 4pm booked appt. The app told me the front desk was notified of my arrival and I was checked in. At 4:30, after no acknowledgement I went to the desk to ensure they were aware I was there. They were not. I was assured I'd be seen shortly-- an hour later I was taken to a room. They quickly did a strep test on me, and what typically is a 15 min read, turned into waiting until 7:50 10 min before they close for a PA to come to my room. In the interim, not 1 visit, not 1 person to even poke a head in the door. As the PA bounced in, she said, "How are you this evening?" full of joy. I responded that I'd been there since 3:45, that's how I'd been. She immediately retorted that others had also waited 3 hrs to be seen, seemingly to miscalculate my wait from the 4+ hrs since check in. Interestingly enough, as I was quickly ushered out after a 5 min eval, there were only 2 rooms left with patients still inside. Meaning, alllllllllllllllllll the patients who followed after me had been seen, evaluated, and discharged prior to me. I don't have an extensive history, I didn't have a complicated issue ... so I guess I should chaulk it up to inefficiency, mismanagement, and poor clinical control. The emotional intelligence of the staff members I dealt with was a solid 1 on a 1-10 scale.
If you're in pain, do not go here! I have gone to them twice for muscle strain/sprain. They always prescribe otc pain meds which doesn't help at all! Last time I ended up going to my regular doctor who prescribed meds that actually helped. It just sucks that I have to pay for 2 doctor visits to get the issue resolved. If my regular doctor had been in office, I would be much better by now. I know there are people abusing pain meds, but access to my medical records should show I'm not one of those people.
Amazing experience!! The Nurse Teresa was amazing, Shelli x-ray tech was alway smiling. DOFI Jayme was very helpful and made checking a breeze. The provider Jennifer Rowe was exceptional!!! She listened to all of my sons problems and made me feel like he was being well cared for!
Profiling people is not the way to hire folks. Being a healthcare provider your management should know what equal opportunity means. Goodluck :
Nice staff, clean building, but the wait time is insane. I understand there will always be a wait, especially at an urgent care clinic, but almost 3 hours in the building and we had to leave before even getting all of the test results. If we were able to stay probably would've been there another hour
This place is great! Very clean & the folks there were kind & helpful. I was traveling from Tennessee to Texas & didn’t feel well enough to continue driving the next day. I was able to make an appointment and it was a bit of a wait because they were very busy due to Covid testing and let everyone know the circumstances & wait times. Most of the clientele was patient & understanding while waiting.
Be warned if you show up as first timer with any sort of illness they will happily bill you at the highest code they can for a “new patient with high complexity”. If you call billing they will just say you met at least two of the criteria for it. So basically if you can’t see your doctor, are ill at all, and are new you will be charged hundreds more than you should be. Oh and no, they won’t transfer you to talk to a supervisor in billing.
I called in a flurry of emotions to see if Healthcare Express had the capability to do blood tests and write a prescription all in one day. *There is a lot of background here, but I will try and keep it short.* Ms. Teresa answered the phone. She was so understanding and had such a calming spirit and tone. She gave me a moment to calm down, and when she returned she assured me the issue could be cared for. I ended up resolving the proble at my doctor's office, but no words can express the gratitude I feel for Teresa and her patience and kindness during that phone call. Thank you, Ms. Teresa!
Staff was polite but I would not call this place "Express" at all. I do love that it's veteran ownedonly reason it got 2 stars but while sitting in my room I'm listening to 2 other patients complaining on the phone over extreme wait times. I waited over an hour to go back to do a "rapid" covid test. After they got the samples they needed I was told 15 minutes....that 15 minutes have been up for 50 minutes before someone came back to check on me. Tried leaving but was told I had to wait for the doctor to see me before I could get my results.
Everyone is always professional and patients are seen promptly. They are very organized and things run smoothly. I haven’t been to another clinic in a few years now. If you haven’t been to Healthcare Express you need to try them for your next clinic visit. They are the best!!!
