HealthEast Ambulance provides 911 EMS to northern Dakota county and interfacility services throughout the Twin Cities.
HealthEast Ambulance Service Levels:
Critical Care
HealthEast Ambulance (HEMT) is the leader in Critical Care ground ambulance service in the Twin Cities. Our Critical Care division is made up of a small group of experienced providers who have been credentialed by the Board of Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification (BCCTPC) and are graduates of the Critical Intensive Care Paramedic program. In addition to the standard certifications held by our ALS paramedics, they are NRP and STABLE card holders as well.
HEMT Critical Care teams specialize in the following:
-Post-arrest and unstable cardiac patients
-High-risk OB
-Blood product infusion
-Invasive line monitoring and chest tube maintenance
-Severely ill pediatric patients
-Complex medical and multi-system trauma patients
Critical Care crews carry advanced equipment including ventilators, multiple infusion pumps, LifePak 15 monitors with invasive line capability, and doppler units. They have advanced protocols and are able to consult with a Critical Care physician 24/7.
Advanced Life Support
HEMT is the PSA license holder and provides all 911 service to northern Dakota County, including the cities of: West St. Paul, South St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Sunfish Lake, Lilydale, Rosemount, and Coates. We mutual aid to surrounding cities as well. ALS crews transport thousands of patients each year between 10 hospitals and dozens of care centers and clinics. Our paramedics are Nationally Registered and have advanced training in ventilators and infusion pumps. Paramedics regularly train students from multiple EMS programs in the area and standby at numerous community events throughout the year.
Basic Life Support
EMT crews at HealthEast Ambulance are the backbone of the interfacility transport system. They care for thousands of patients each year and support our ALS units in our 911 service area as needed. BLS crews often respond to skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities throughout the Twin Cities when patients need to be seen in the ED but don't require a 911 emergency response. HealthEast EMTs have advanced training in 12-lead EKG application, emergency medications, IO insertion, and CPAP. In addition to transporting patients between facilities and back home, BLS crews are active at events throughout the metro providing EMS first response for marathons, concerts, races, parades, and other large-scale public gatherings. You may even see a HealthEast BLS ambulance race by delivering an organ for transplant too!
