Heartland Hockey Camp is located in Deerwood, MN in the Brainerd Lakes Vacation area. Heartland is the only self contained, privately owned hockey camp in the entire world! The camp is owned and operated by former US Olympian and NHL player Steve Jensen.

Heartland Hockey Camp is now in it's 30th summer, it is owned and operated by former US Olympian and NHL player Steve Jensen. As a youth hockey player, Steve was an active member of Minnesota Hockey and played college Hockey at Michigan Tech., in the WCHA. After an eleven year pro hockey career, with the Minnesota North Stars and the Los Angeles Kings, Steve decided it was time to pursue his dream of coaching.
Since 1985, we have dedicated ourselves to providing hockey players with one of the most unique training facilities in the world. The Heartland Hockey Camp now encompasses 80 acres with a state-of-the-art ice arena, full-sized roller rink, tennis courts, mini-golf a Sport Court power shooting range, 52 dormitory lodging units, spacious weight-room, hockey pro shop, snack bar, video arcade, movie theater, one restaurant and 1800 feet of beautiful private lakeshore property on Portage Lake .
During the past 29 years, our camp has become an integral part of Cuyuna Country. Located just 15 miles from the Brainerd Regional Airport, the camp is accessible to hockey players world wide via Delta Airlines. Our camp is nestled between two beautiful golf courses, The Lakes Golf Course and Cuyuna Country Club, and we are just minutes away from the Cuyuna Lakes Trail for biking and hiking. Opportunities also abound for boating, fishing, kayaking, diving, camping and bird watching in the Cuyuna Lakes State Recreation Area. Finally the Grand Casino of Mille Lacs is just 18 miles south of our camp.
