Food, personal items and clothing pantry serving the UCC congegration, Huntersville, Davidson, Mooresville, Concord, and Charlotte communities.
"Everything we need is in the house!"
- Pastor Dr. Michael A. Stevens, Sr.
The Hearts and Hands Food Pantry at the University City Church launched on April 16, 2017 and serves the community at large comprising Huntersville, Davidson, Mooresville, Concord, Charlotte and the surrounding areas.
The Pantry seeks to minister to the body and spirit of those in need!
The goal of the Pantry is to not only provide for food needs, but to also stock personal care items and baby care items which tend to be sacrificed first in financial crisis. Additionally, the Pantry will stock donated clothing items.
Donated funds to the Pantry will be used to thriftily purchase food and other items which will be donated to those in need. Donations will be given from the Pantry location in the Church every Tuesday from 5pm - 7pm or by appointment (call us to schedule).
Funding help is continually requested. Financial donations are the cornerstone of the Pantry's success as they determine the level of help that can be provided.
Your donations will allow for the following:
** service and ministry in the community
** ability to keep the food pantry open 1-2 days per week to meet community needs and requests
** partner with larger organizations and food banks to increase what the Pantry can provide
As Christians, one of our chief concerns is to minister and serve. Serving the body, fortifies the mind and strengthens the heart.
For the poor shall never cease out of the land; therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy in thy land. - Deuteronomy 15:11
