Uniting the community for Christ
Mathieu Jean-Baptiste arrived in Florida in August 1983. He started to preach in many churches in
Miami. He helped the ministers organize seminars
for youth groups and Sunday school teachers. In December 18, 1983 he moved to West Palm Beach were he started to gather the pastors together and continued to offer the same services he offered in Miami. On May 24, 1986 he invited a large group of pastors to a special meeting and proposed to them to organize an interdenominational evangelistic crusade, and the proposition passed.
From August 1986 to August 2010 Mathieu
Jean-Baptiste planned, programmed and organized
59 evangelistic crusades for social, spiritual, and familial well being of the Haitian in South Florida.
The assistance to these crusades has been estimated at many hundreds of thousands. Records show
that many thousands new converts have been
registered to grow the numbers of born again
people in the Haitian churches. He helped other Haitian groups to organize more than
30 evangelistic crusades and conventions
in the Haitian Milieu.
With the foundation of HECA, in May 1986, Mathieu took the opportunity to edify the relation between the pastors of different protestant denominations from many Florida counties. Today, because of HECA, almost all the Haitian pastors work together and support each other in their religious services. Mathieu travels to various States of the Union, Canada, the Bahamas, and Europe to encourage the same idea and help implant the crusade movement. To God be the glory from now and forevermore and blessed be His mighty Name.
