I know everyone has a different experience, but give them a chance. The office lady took a little bit to warm up to us but she was very sweet. We had to stop and get out for roughly 20 minutes and they graciously let us dock right at their gas pump and return to our boat when we were done. Honest and polite people. The price is great for what you get. The pontoons are older but we didn’t go there for the fancy dancy new models. Very user friendly. The restrooms were nice and clean. Very nice and accommodating. In all we spent under $200 for the pontoon and gas for a 6 hour day.
The lady that runs the office was amazing. Last minute get away and she had us off in just a matter of minutes. Thanks to her we were able to give our daughter a little bit of what we had as a kid. Price was amazing and all around good people, will rent again next time.
Guy is unprofessional and thinks he’s smarter than everyone else—-not even close. 1. This summer, while about 1/4 mile from our spot in marina he repeatedly scream “go f… yourself” to someone at his biz; about 20 times. Nice for kids to hear and families to hear, and there were plenty around. 2. He never is on time with services nor complete; and doesn’t provide official communication on dock removal, etc. 3. He pulled my boat out with no notice or permission. 4. He routinely drags pontoon boats across his gravel parking lot…. Better hope yours isn’t one of them! Thank god we only got stuck there one year.
Horrible experience! Don’t ever rent from this place. Boats are damaged and terrible condition. Spiders, trash, bugs every where. The owner is a very bad person. I came back before 7 o clock to turn my key in on time and nobody was there. I asked people around the building and they couldn’t get a hold of him. I had my 2 young boys with me and wanted to get them home to eat and wash up. Came back in the morning to turn the key in and he admitted to me he was watching me circle around looking for him with my kids. Started yelling and made racist remarks to me. Told me I’m the reason he got a divorce? Stay away from this place trust me.
To start off, the boat was so dirty, hasn’t been cleaned in years. There were probably over 50 cobwebs and many spiders. When dropping off the boat, the “Boss” was so incredibly rude to my Vietnam Decent Father, as well as family. He was screaming that we could possibly not afford a $10,000 motor, which was such an odd fact to even bring up. He was so incredibly rude, especially never renting a boat before, it was not at all a good experience. I hope he learns to be and do better because in my opinion, he shouldn’t do boat rentals if you don’t want inexperienced people on your boats. Might I add, after he yelled at my family, another family approached us happen to be Mexican and they stated that the man also just finished yelling at them. I’m sensing possibly some racism… The 1 star rating it already too much for them..
We ended up here renting a pontoon to use out on the lake for fishing. We did have a small selection of 6 or 12 person pontoons and others were there but it sounded like they were broke down....not too reassuring. The couple that ran the place were a little rough but nice enough, on our return they were doing some day drinking inside the business....but I guess that's the perk of owning your own business. We were given the keys to a pontoon and no operating instructions or run down on the location pf life vest or anything. Someone that has never been on a boat might have been more lost and condused. The pontoons were a little banged up but overall operated as expected. We will look for other rental options for the future if for no other reason than to find owners or staff that seem appreciative of the customers.
My husband and I rented a boat for the day this past Thursday. Price is great, boat ran fine, nice and quick service. We plan to go back and rent again this weekend!
We come to Heights Marina every single year. The boats aren't the best kept, but the value keeps us coming back.
Very rude and dirty! Man working there yesterday threw a rope at my son and started yelling at him because “ he should know what he’s doing”, even though its our first time renting a boat! Then my husband asked why he’s being rude and said that he’s worked from 7-7 which is not our problem. Man has no business running this place! Unless you want moldy life jackets, dirty boat and extremely rude customer service DO NOT COME HERE!!
Do not recommend to anyone. We rented a boat for the day. There were a bunch of quarter sized spiders crawling all over the boat. We could tell it hadn't been cleaned in a while. On top of all that, the dashboard wasn't working - we could not tell how much gas we used OR how fast we were going. Pretty dangerous. Highly recommend you check the boat first before renting here.
