So disappointed and discouraged. Our neighbors and others don’t understand why the HCPD seems to have decided to do nothing about what we were told was a case of motor vehicle theft in our subdivision. No warrants or consequences of any kind despite evidence. It’s been two weeks. Our confidence in law enforcement in this county has been badly shaken.
pulled me over on my bike on a dark st in unmarked cadillac and white car, no way to tell they were officers, just a vest with lot of pockets that said police. pulled me away from the busy lit area, followed me to a dark end, got out with no false move asking for my ID. appreciate the break, but unprofessional and it needs to change. never known a officer even if undercover to drive a CADILLAC. they need to crack down on impersonation or officers in unmarked cars pulling pedestrians over in areas that are not lit away from business. anyway i was the wrong person
Office Gates and Officer Robinson are true heroes and very professional. They came to our house to handle a domestic situation and didn't assume anything. They gently asked questions and addressed the situation. There was no need to take anyone to jail but just separation needed. I can't thank them enough for handling things so well. I appreciate the wisdom Officer Gates shared with my family.
I try very hard to be a good person and treat others with kindness! Yesterday, I returned home from the store and could not close my door on the driver's side. I stood out there for good little while , before calling my husband to help. He fumbled with that door for a minute trying to get it to shut. Finally, he got it to shut, and notice the gap in the top of the window. Clearly the door was tampered with at one of the stores I visited. I called both stores to see if there was any kind of security cameras outside in the parking lot. The one store told me I had to have a police report to view the footage. The other did not have a camera in the parking lot at all. I call the police to file a report and an officer came out to my house. I was clearly upset about my car and was not in the mood for nonsense. I have only lived in my residence for a little more than a year and I am not impressed with this area. My front yard has been vandalized and my interaction with the school resource deputy at Ola was less than stellar. My battery died while waiting to pick up my son and this nice deputy would not help me at all. The Cook's pest control guy got stuck in my drive way, he was blocking traffic a little and the police had to come help him out. Once again this officer was cold, nasty to me and the pest control guy. Friendly to those that decided to be noisy, they were laughing , joking and he did not mind explaining the situation to them--clearly he knew most of them. My experience with Henry County Police in the McDonough area has been heartbreaking, discriminative and I don't feel welcomed here at all. I wish my feelings were just some emotional stereotype that I was all in my head, but I assure you, I am right! Police officers should treat all citizens fairly, without bias and be ready to serve the community with dignity and respect. The officer that came to my house yesterday treating me like a criminal, for not knowing when my door was damaged. I have been driving the car for 6 years and have never had a problem with the door. It took a lot of force to damage the door like that and his job should be protect and serve with due process. I realize that that door is a small issue to him, but the bigger issue is his interactions with minorities!!!!
It's only bad if you're the on the wrong side, in my experience Gwinnett is one of the most aggressive pd and they're right up there with them.
The Officer who helped me out by calling me when someone borrowed my truck got caught shoplifting didn't have to do that but I'm grateful. Very nice officer.
THE 2 crossing GUARDS AT OAKLAND ELEMENTARY NEED NEW TRAINING !!! Can’t STOP AND TELL PARENTS TO GO WITHOUT TELLING THEM TO SLAM ON BRAKES ! ACTING LIKE THEY TRUE LAWENFORCEMENT. Approaching ppl and talking very aggressively!!! Rude as hell !! If I could of put my hands on them I would !! But that’s not the right way to go !!!!
Ok so trying to find out how to make a complaint against a school crossing guard is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. At woodland high school there is a crossing guard who needs new line of work. For the past 3 years he has showed anger toward cars going the speed limit wanting them to go faster. This is child endangerment it is a school zone there are speed limits for a reason. Today as I was waiting my turn he motioned me to go. I saw a car to his right that he obviously did not see moving toward me. I put on my brake to stop from getting hit and he waves his arms and starts yelling at me when I pointed to the car that was moving he still did not look but proceeded to get more angry and yell at me more. This guy needs a new job cause he seems to be unhappy with the one he has. The poor lady crossing guard at the middle school has almost been hit a few times due to speeders that is caused by this man who is encouraging cars to speed in a school zone!!!! I hope this finds someone who is willing to look into this cause this man in dangerous with his actions. But then again this is the same police department that told me that they don't write tickets in a school zone. Yeah I know I still am confused about that myself. Yes I was told that by a lady officer. " there is nothing we can do, we can not write tickets in a school zone only a SRO can do that ma'am".
Henry County police department majority have no clue of laws & ghetto messey. Do not trust them help reslove no issue, best not call them at if it's not 911.
I have been trying for a few weeks to reach someone in the Henry County Police Department who can provide information on when they will honor their local fallen officers during National Police Week in Henry County. I know it is held in May, however, a date is needed. I spoke with people in Internal Affairs and the Chief of Police office and no one seems aware of this event held yearly. The website does not have a calendar of events that I could fine. A response would be greatly appreciated.
